GPU-Z screenshots are easy to fake, that is true. But this is in GPU-Z's database which cannot be faked as far as I know. At least, I have never ever seen anything faked there - it has to be physically uploaded and the information has to be present in the BIOS of whatever card is uploaded.
Maybe i'm wrong in all this, but I've never seen an actual fake GPU-Z database upload to TPU. Honestly, the specs make sense to me - I dont' believe for a second that NV would overlap the Titan with a cheaper and faster SKU. From a business standpoint, doing that makes the Titan completely irrelevant. But with the 780ti at the current specifications rumored, the Titan will still be ever so slightly faster and Nvidia's product line will retain integrity, you know? That's how I see it. It's all about bringing Titan level performance to a much lower price range, that's the purpose of the 780ti IMHO.
You know what I find most exciting? Rumor is that the vanilla 780 will be price cut to 550$ at the end of November. Think of all the aftermarket 780s which can be bought for around 560$ or so if that is true - that is INSANELY good for the performance you're getting. Heck, at that price level I would easily get an OC 780 over a 290X.
