A problem with GTX 760 performance

Hey, I bought a new PC not long ago, its specs are:

i5-4670k @ 3.4 GHz
GTX 760 2GB (factory overclocked, I overclocked it further a little bit)
8 GB RAM

So a rig like this should run Metro Last Light on maximum details without any problem, but for some reason my PC struggles to. I've seen people with similar rigs get an average of 50 FPS in the benchmark, while I can get 40 FPS max, and that's with SSAO disabled. I tried experimenting with different settings and driver versions, but it's always the same. During heavy combat situations or when looking at some things it drops to god damn 25 FPS.

I haven't really noticed problems with other games, on the other hand I haven't really played any other that have come out in 2013. I can't play Planetside 2 maxed out, but I heard that game is really badly optimized.

This worries me a little bit that there might be something wrong with my rig. What could be the possible reasons of this situation?

1)I have HD 7950 which at stock equals GTX 760.I have OC'ed my card to 1100/1575mhz which is the same performance as HD 7970 Ghz. edition and in Metro Last Light,i get nothing but bad experience. For me,the game is just broken. The shadows are flickerry and the performance I get is awful.
2)Everything on Very High with tesselation and SSAO to 4x and I'm getting 30-40fps ,terrible story. In other games,i'm getting amazing FPS.I use Windows 8 Pro x64 so there is maybe incompatibility issue,i don't know.Maybe you're experiencing the same issue as me,on Nvidia though which is strange because Metro LL is Nvidia title.
3)Try 3Dmark11,Firestrike,Heaven,Valley and if the frames there are on par with what you should be getting,no worries. For reference, here are some of my scores you can compare to:
Valley:50.5fps ; 2,112pts
Heaven:45.8fps, i don't remember the score
3Dmark11: 10,518pts on the GPU,Performance preset
4)And for Planetside 2,you need a beastly CPU and yours without an OC isn't going to cut it.I'll download it overnight and tell you how's my performance there.

Ok, here's my results after running valley:

fps: 41.7
score: 1745.91

I suppose something is wrong then.

I just ran valley on max settings with i5 4670k (stock clock), 16gb, MSI n760 TF 2gb - stock and a 1080p monitor.

FPS: 39.3 and Score 1645. I have a 2nd monitor plugged in (old 17") as well. I don't think your results are really bad. If they are, mine is doing bad as well.

the scores you guys are posting for your valley results are standard results for the GTX 760, if your running at extreme HD.

the GTX 760 can run Metro Last Light at high settings (and prob get between 30-40fps). If you're looking to get 60fps+ maxed you're gonna need another 760 or an upgrade to a higher performance card.

honestly a single 760 isnt all that great imo, oc'd the card still under performed vs my oc'd 7950 (when I still had one) and the only reason I have mine at all is because of how well they scale in SLI for the price i got them at.

there is noting wrong with your rigs but just to be sure you're getting max performance out of your rigs; under power options in windows make sure you're running in high performance mode. not balanced or power saving, esp not power saving.

also what brand of 760's are you guys using? The EVGA ones seem to have a max OC of 1250 while some people with MSI and other brands have been lucky enough to achieve higher core clock speeds. I own two EVGA SC ACX cards and I can only get them to 1250.
