I spent alot of time over the past day and a half browsing the ROG forums and reading about people with similar error codes on a range of ROG boards. HighViz was probly the number one person that was helping people sort out the issue's and i already know how the conversation will go. I even saw one issue where it was both the GPU & Bent Pins.
Every thread his first recommendation was memory (which we scratched off the list), next was try a different GPU on the board (which i don't have access to), next was try the GPU on another board. The GPU causing the exact same issue on my LGA775 board, right down to the keyboard not turning on, can only mean one thing.
Those pins might be bent, but right now i'm praying that's not the case. I saw some1 post pics of their socket in the RIVE BE thread like a month ago because of the crunch the cpu makes when you close the socket. Him, me, and a few others were positive the pins were bent from the pics. Turned out they weren't, just looked like it cuz of the lights.
No matter what, my 30 days with newegg on the RIVE BE has been expired for a while now. My 290x still has like 10 days before its up. And the 290x is definitely causing the issue. Whether i have bent pins in there that are gonna cause another problem i still have yet to see =\
I'm over at my moms now taking care of her cat & dog while she's away for the weekend. I left my build back at my apt because there was stuff EVERYWHERE by the time i got done troubleshooting.
That spot you just circled on the pic almost made me start a claim on the Asus site without even testing on my other mobo. It does indeed look like pins are bent, but it's really tough to tell.
Edit: And the threads i saw where none of those things worked, his next suggestion was always to post pics of the socket. It just can't be a coincidence that the LGA775 board replicates the same exact symptoms with the 290x.
