I told myself when I ploughed 80 pounds into this case that I wouldn't change it within a year, plus I don't need the 540 for any reason other than the way it looks, I only use a h100,and a single card, and my temps are fine with the XB...

Also the price of the 540 is off putting at 125 pounds, which I can't really afford to be doing without a good reason.

As soon as I buy a 540 I know there will be another case that I want that will cost me another 50 pounds extra than the last case I buy

Hmph.

The only reason i could think of to justify switching from an XB to a 540 would be the extra rad space. Everything else looks really similar to me.

You flip an XB on it's side and it looks like a 540. Lay a 540 on its side and it's like an XB.

Both have dual compartments for hiding cables. The XB has more function IMO with the drive bays, hotswaps, and most importantly the handles. Also i think it looks better :D

I considered switching just for the radspace, but i'm glad i went this route instead. I've learned ALOT from this build.

the rad space has me as well with the 540. I do like that I have windows on three sides of my XB. that and my w/c set-up I like and will probably keep me with the XB. a case is what you make it with modding, and it is my own. the 540, I don't know that I would do very much case modding like I did with the XB. then my 540 would just be look everyone elses and I don't know if I like that part. just like your XB has mods like no other(right now, hehe. I might steal a few of your mods) that is out there.

At least you were already a skilled modder before you got your XB. If i bought a 540, i'm pretty positive i woulda never felt the need to even buy my first Dremel.

Imagine, then i'd have to spend my free time doing stuff like going outside and talking to people eek.gif

Now i obsess about custom pc's and play with powertools instead :lachen:

I tried going outside, but the gameplay wasn't that good. Place was full of noobs lol. Agreed, I don't think I would have done half the stuff to a 540 as Ive done to the xb. Take this for instance.

You sure you're going to be able to fit all that in your case Kpeoticg. That's a whole load of kit to go in, it coming along nicely. Top work.

if you change cases and dont get a CL case I am coming to see you and it will not be nice!!! sozo.gifgunner2.gif

Well, you could always do what I wanted to do to my 540. take the whole top off and run dual 360s and then a 240 in the front and 240 at the bottom. I'm considering still doing that, but I really like the look of the Enthoo Primo.. It's not that I don't want to case mod, but with my shaky hands and lack of painting skills, I"m just bound to complete screw it up.

Hey Scott, you know there are also excellent quality and highly functional cases that exist which are affordable to us normal people right?
