You don't HAVE to spend a ton of money on it. I built a wooden mITX HTPC (http://www.themodsquito.com/pages/ScratchBuild.aspx?ref=MiniHTPC
) with right about $200 worth of hardware. Brought it to an Age of Empires II LAN, and was hosting age games all day with out a single issue with it. Runs on an AMD E-350 integrated CPU, no dedicated GPU, a Pico PSU, and small mSATA ssd.
Good modding doesn't require expensive hardware, just system building does
That said, everyone does enjoy watching shiny parts get put together, so I'm not dumping on this thread at all lol My favorite mods are the ones where you can't tell what case is hiding beneath the mods. That's what it's all about, so I look forward to this one drawing closer to completion
