The "stickers" Im using, is a high quality glossy self adhesive vinyl sheet in A4 shape that you print on.
Its not like a paper sticker.. for example, it is really hard to tare, and it sticks really well (at least it does on a flat plastic plate aka my backplate tongue.gif)
It is also approved for outdoor use, so tongue.gif
I dont know what I was thinking about the heat rolleyes.gif it is gonna hold just fine thumb.gif

Lol, wasn't trying to imply that your stickers were crappy quality or anything. I just don't know about printing stickers at all. Never done it, although it does interest me. I meant i can only comment on vinyl personally. I know vinyl will hold. I already have some Red Vinyl and Red Carbon Fiber Vinyl for my build. Got some White CF on the way right now. I'm sure if you have no problems using the sticker material for your gpu backplate, it should be fine for the Apogee HD too. I just think some Red CF would look cool with the black. That's just my personal opinion though :p

I follow the WC Club Thread when i'm not building and trying to make progress. When i'm just brainstorming, i'll follow every single post for weeks sometimes, always catching up.

Lately i haven't spent too much time there tho. Been too busy trying to figure out this build. I have no idea what dye situation you're talking about, but i'll go check it out now :D

I ended up sanding the outer paint off one of my DDC Heatsinks tonight. Then decided i wanted to take comparison pics before i sanded the rest. I kinda got sidetracked clearing out some space and trying to organize things. Then while i was clearing out space on one of my desks, i ended up just setting up my mobo tray on a big piece styrofoam i had laying around from some package i received at some point.

Anyway, i have my res and rad kinda mounted on a cpl storage shelves, and everythings almost hooked back up to the point i'll be able to fill my loop with my Apogee Drive again for the time being tomorrow. I was gonna wait til i had my 35x3 setup, but after my last cpl 290x fiasco's i figured i should get as much testing time as i can out of it.

I bought a BP Mini-Valve recently so i can make the switch when i need to without too many issues. Tomorrow i should have my mobo back up and running so i can go fishing for Black Screens. Still got my fingers crossed for a Hynix.

Once i get my mobo booted up, i'm just gonna leave it running with monitor on and get back to sanding and painting my heatsinks. No pics tonight cuz i'm exhausted. I'll be back at it when i wake up though.

It's how you glue acrylic together. I'm still learning myself, but there's a few different types depending how you need to bond it. It's called Acrylic Cement but it's not really "Cement". It kinda reflows the 2 pieces of acrylic into one solid piece by causing a chemical reaction of some sort.

Edit: Also, i actually did miss the Fedex guy. I didn't hear my buzzer over my drill. Luckily i had the tracking up on my laptop monitor, so when i was done drilling out rivets i saw that it was sitting outside the entrance to my apartment building LOLLL.

Now i need to go grab some paint for these EK DDC Heatsinks wheee.gif

Lol too late to turn back now brotha. I intentionally bought the Black Heatsink Housings because they're coated with Black Paint instead of Nickel.

I asked in the EK thread about it, Snef advised me to use some high heat engine paint. So that's why i bought the VHT Engine Enamel for it. It still allows heat dissipation.

But that's the reason i'm trying to sand all the paint off that i'm replacing, instead of kinda half-a##ing it and trying to prime over it. I agree that less paint makes sense for heat dissipation. That's why i'm struggling about whether or not to use the VHT Engine Enamel Clear Coat.

In all honesty, a 35x3 shouldn't get very warm anyway. I shouldn't have to crank any of the pumps. The reason i got the EK Heatsinks is because it replaces the entire pump housing. The only reason i bought em was to paint em white. I think the white bases will look good with the clear plexi tops pumping red fluid =)

I'm figuring a light coat of the VHT Engine Enamel Light Gray Primer, with maybe 2 light coats of the Engine Enamel Glossy White. I bought a can of the Engine Enamel Clear Coat, but don't know if i should use it or not.

The Primer and White both mention they use a Ceramic Formula to increase heat dispersion. The Clear Coat doesn't mention the ceramic.

Pic pic pic biggrin.gif

God, Im so rude.. I speak more about my own build than yours.. and this is your thread!
BUT! I just had to status update.. I pulled the pump and cleaned it.. I didnt find the culprit, must have flushed out when I disconnected / opened the pump..
The pump is running silent again! and it seams I gained more flow by changing to the new housing.. estimate, 5 LPM on setting 4/5

I am working in the GIMP atm.. trying to figure out what vinyl to print smile.gif
Gonna post some candidates in an hour or two (yea yea.. Ill post them in my own thread instead of flooding yours tongue.gif)
Ill give you a heads up when there are ready!

Shaken not stirred <- this also applies for dealing with air bubbles tongue.gif
post #1560 of 3109
It wasnt air.. tongue.gif
Imagine a fan with a wire touching it slightly, you can hear it click and accelerate as the fan accelerates.. air would stay silent when the pump starts and only be audiable as the pump gains speed.

Anyways.. tease me all you want.. but while you are doing so, could you got to my build log and pick your favourite layout for my CPU block? smile.gif

*Edit
Never mind.. The project is off frown.gif
The vinyl is broken when I tighten the 8 screws that holds everything together.. so not possible in this way..
I would need to make holes so the screws doesnt touch the vinyl, and the screws are as wide as the vinyl in some places.. so thats not possible ether

I COULD put the vinyl op top of the screws, but I doubt that is gonna look good..
I guess painting is my only option, and im not gonna do that right now.. maybe next time I need to clean the system..
