It was IT diva's stretch limo build I thought of when I saw your triple pump top lol. Bummer about the barbs though. There's 6 red barbs sat in my parts box if you can't source any. I'll not be using them. My next Monsoon fitting's will be hardlines. Hopefully. I was thinking of using UV LED's in my EK blocks Like you, I've got enough LED's and cathodes to light a Christmas tree. rolleyes.gif Probably won't use even half of them in the final build, but they're there if I need them. I'm glad you explained about doing the acrylic for the blocks before putting the mobo in the case. that's another good idea I never would have had.

biggrin.gif so you are starting up on the acrylic tubing? biggrin.gif
Smart move to do the board while you can.. cant wait to see it!
I would encourage you do bends vs angle fittings.. shows more skill, and imo looks much better wink.gif
and yea, definitely go with 12/13mm OD.. the 16 is gonna look too big in this case (is my guess)

lol 4 copys of BF4 ?
You have two cards now and one of them has been RMAed, thats 3 coppys.. where did you get the last one? tongue.gif or did I forget something?

Sad to hear that you finally decided against monsoon (due to silver), I totally agree they shouldnt have gone that route.. forcing ppl to use silver or go with another brand frown.gif
I still like the silver though.. and now it is better distributed throughout my system vs my old silver coil.
Good thing they didnt make the entire base out of silver, so no direct contact between the silver and other metals.

He RMA'd his first DOA Hynix, then got an Elpida which he also RMA'd so he received the 3 BF$ edition cards on my count.

His latest purchase 290x was non BF4 if i remember right?

I even PM'd Darlene to ask about the XSPC Triple Top. Alot of people don't like the XSPC DDC Tops because they don't use the Volute Internal Shape that gives a much better flowrate (Like Swiftech & EK). No idea why they haven't upgraded that yet.

She has alot of the same components as me though, and she's one of, if not the most knowledgeable person on OCN about watecooling and modding. She said the XSPC Triple gives almost double the flowrate of the Swiftech 35x2. Her log is also what made me realize how restrictive my loop was gonna be. The only real difference in our mobo loops is she has 4 290x's with EK Blocks, i'm gonna have 3 with Aquacomputer Blocks.

And yeah, i buy my LED's off Amazon in 100pk's lol. I went through about 50 of em just figuring out the best way to mod my eLoops without the legs of the led's being constantly ripped out.

I'd happily take those barbs off your hands :D

I don't know if i consider doing my mobo the same as starting on my acrylic tubing.

I'm just doing this area.

I'm also ordering my Ram Blocks so i can just get it all linked up. It's gonna be really short tubing runs, so it shouldn't be very complicated.

Once i get my chassis put back together and i'm bending the tubing for my rads/res/pump, that'll be when i'll consider my build to "have acrylic tubing" =)

That's also why i might not order the Monsoon Mandrel Kit yet. I'm gonna use the 12mm tubing for my mobo area, but there's a decent chance i'll use 16mm for everything else.

Yeah, i RMA'd the first card twice like Will said.

I think it may have been a decent idea to offer silver barbs as an option. Kinda like they released the Lock-Collar Conversion Kit. They coulda released a similar kit for people that needed Silver. I think it was a bad move to force Silver onto people though. Doing it with their regular compressions fittings now too is just ridiculous. So now the colored fittings that Monsoon is known for will never again have colored barbs.

I was gonna grab the Sapphire Non-BF4 off Newegg cuz they had it for $650. But they had a Powercolor BF4 for $680 with a $25 Newegg gift card included as a bonus gift.

So i just ordered the Powercolor, and was pretty freakin pissed that the day after i ordered it the price of that same Powercolor BF4 Edition dropped to $550

It's not so much 6, but 5 with the sixth with it's compression ring seized on redface.gif. they're yours if you want them. i'll find out the cost of postage from the UK first though. shouldn't be much, there's not much weight in them.

I would definitely call that getting started on the acrylic tongue.gif you are gonna get hands on experience with the stuff and learn how much heat / distance / time to apply to each bend. and we get a taste of what it is gonna look like smile.gif

No matter if you see it as getting started with acrylic or not, we cant wait to see how it turns out! thumb.gif

  Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I forgot to even ask what size they are. The barbs i need are the 3/8" cuz my fittings/tubing are 3/8 x 5/8.

If they match up, i would most definitely appreciate it. Just PM me with the shipping. If you need a few bux for em, let me know.

True. I'm probly not gonna order the 13mm Mandrel Kit though, since i've seen people mention that sometimes the radius isn't quite as tight as they needed. I can't really picture a situation where i'd need tighter radius' than that little area. I'm gonna have to find some1 that has the 13mm Mandrel Kit and a similar waterblock setup. Making up my own jig is just gonna take me more time. And this is something i kinda need to get done quickly!! Since the blocks are installed, i can't power on my mobo to test my GPU's til i have it linked up.

I really need to find out soon if either of these cards are defective. Especially since i already know that one of them is Elpida....

These are the big fella's. 13/19mm 1/2" 3/4". After the black carbon monsoons split. I kind of lost faith in the carbon fittings. Hopefully someone's got stock of the right size with the red barbs.
I'm in a bit of limbo with my build. More indecision on my part than lacking parts. It's all Gambi's fault wink.gif Using the hardlines in his build. looks sweet, and with your idea of fitting the tubing before putting mobo in the case. It's only availability that's stopping me now, and the thought of buying a third set of fittings.
