Then I can sell the 22"
Those monitors don't lend themselves for portrait mode anyway. Are those tiny speakers for your pc? smile.gif

The 27" Asus Pb278q lends itself quite nicely to be used in portrait mode with its fully adjustable stand with tilt swivel height adjustment and portrait mode. I know this, I have one. Brilliant picture quality and refresh rate makes BF4 look awesome in ultra and picking out the snipers hiding at the back of the map has never been so easy.

Not the best monitor pound for pound. For the same money you can pick up 2 1080p Asus 27" monitors.

Being of the middle aged persuasion, the extra resolution on one screen is better for my tired old eyes.

At the young whipper snappers who'd give up there youth for cash and cool pc parts. I'll swap smile.gif

Don't wish your life away. I'm on the other side of lifes seesaw now, and youth and health win over age and money.

Btw, these Dell 1200 Ips w/ pivoting bases are pretty inexpensive preowned. I picked up the first three new for ~$260 and the other two preowned for ~$200 a piece. One more for 3x2.....thinking.gif....... but I don't like the horizontal bezel tongue.gif.

You can do 5x1 and 3x2 w/ smaller monitors. There's guys running more then three sub 1080 monitors.

You're monitor setup looks so friggin sick bro. I can't bring myself to put spoilers around that beauty

I don't necessarily need a Korean PLS, i just don't know a ton about monitors and they seem to be popular. I know the Overlord PCB's are like 200bux a pop. That's pretty expensive on top of a monitor. I was under the impression that all of the K-Monitors are "capable" of 120hz. But it's another silicon lottery. 120hz K-Monitor is like a Golden CPU. Most of em go to ~96hz so that seems to be what people hope for when they order em. I've seen some people in the Korean Monitor thread that have gotten duds that can't even clock to 96. Also the "Pixel Perfect" situation seems to be a bit of a lottery too. I think i remember reading that a Pixel Perfect label still allows for like 3-5 dead pixels.

I've never checked out the Yamakasi Catleap PCB's, but even the Tempest Website has a disclaimer that the pcb is only guaranteed to give you 96hz.

I'm trying to be at the point in my build where most of my reckless spending is behind me. So i'm really really really hoping not to spend another 1500-2000 on monitors in the near future. Also my tv died again yesterday and i had to take it apart and fix the fan.......again. I'm so sick of this Sony SXRD Rear Projection. I'm even considering just getting a nice tv and a single monitor since i live in a 1 bedroom apartment anyway.

Need to weigh the benefits of eyefinity K-Monitors vs a nice 60" tv....

TVs for gaming = bad. Input lag is completely off the charts. i mean. like some even go up to 60ms input lag.
Get a three monitor 1080p set up and a nice big TV. Don't even think about using that TV for gaming. 1080p or even 1600p on a 60inch screen isn't going to look pretty in the dots per inch department.

Thanx guys. Rep to both of you. I had no idea that TV's had input lag issue's like that. Even nicer tv's with DVI input?

Sounds like a triple 1080p setup might be the way to go. I won't be able to stand this tv for much longer, so definitely gonna have to save some money aside for that too.

Edit: Also forgot to mention that my Ram Kit won't be here til tomorrow. Was supposed to be today, but we've had crazy rainstorms the last few days, so i was actually expecting the delay

All depends on your setup placement overall. I personally I have my rig hooked up to my main 47" TV (small I know, need bigger but it works so well) and also to my 21" monitor next to my spot on the couch. Being that I like to spend time in the living room with the GF this allows me to play my games and watch TV or movies at the same time. I run them as seperate monitors on an extended display and just window my games over to my small monitor so the big screen has the movies and what not. I can play on the TV and its not pixelated, but I am also 10 ft away, up close its not quite so pretty. 1080 does well enough tho at a distance.

A friend however plays on a 60" from across the living room with wireless mouse and keyboard and it looks better than my little monitor does upclose. Its all about the resolution of the TV, a new one vs an old one is WORLDS of difference. New 4k tvs play games amazing if you have a system that can push the resolution.

4K TVs have appalling refresh rates though frown.gif

Yeah i actually bought this TV like 6 years ago when i lived in a decent sized condo. I think 10' is the recommended viewing distance.

I've bought 2 TV's since then, and i'm still stuck with this one. I gave my Samsung 120hz LED to my mom when i bought my Panasonic 240hz Plasma. Then when i moved to this apartment, the screen cracked on the Panasonic :sad-smile

I guess it's not fixable when you can see the plasma leaking. So i'm stuck with this dinosaur that i bought 3 TV's ago, when HD was still new LOL

I used a 32" led tv once..it wasn't that bad with gaming, from what I remembered. But my eyes started to burn after a nightly session of BF2142 (so you know how long ago that was wink.gif )
