Yeah i've been getting to the point lately where i just expect something to go wrong. No idea what it'll be, but something.

The dead pump is hard to blame on luck. I didn't tighten one of the screws enough, so it's my fault. As long as i have no leaks, i'll definitely be a happy camper. Hopefully a 35x pops up on the marketplace for a reasonable price in the next cpl weeks. A 35x2 is plenty to hold me over for now. I only want the 35x3 for when i have my 3rd GPU Block, Aquaero Block, 4 Rads, etc....

I am linking the "fitting" setup more and more (vs bends only) especially now that you have red dye in the tubes! looks awesome dude!

The drilled trace made me laugh tongue.gif did the drill slip a few times? hehe ^^
What I normally do when cutting a trace is razor blade the trace two places (2-5mm apart) and remove the trace in-between, same outcome but you dont risk drilling into traces on the other side (if there was any) and looks more professional.

Good to see things are moving along! and congrats on the leak free system (so fare that is..)
I dont wanna jinx it, but your build has ran into some nasty problems quite a few times now..
Hopefully the worst is over and the rest will be smooth sailing smile.gif

Good luck brother! and have a good weekend thumb.gif

If Matt is in need of it go ahead, I'm not a sure thing anyway and it's still a good few months away before I get into custom loop.

Well depending how much you need for it, i might still be able to save some money. 31euros is ALOT for shipping, damn lol. Not used to international shipping. Still let me know, maybe we can work something out. I definitely need one.

Thanx, I'm really liking the color scheme too. One of the reasons i wanted to stick with it.

I actually used a razor first. Probly half the scratches were from the razor, and half were from the drill slipping :D

That was the first one i did tho, i've done probly 5 or 6 more since then with no slips. I just use my center punch first to make the divot. Drill's just much easier to break the trace (IMO). MMT PCB's don't have any traces on the other side. There's honestly not a single reason for all the fan headers to have an rpm header. Makes no sense. Still come in handy though.

I drill slow, so i haven't poked out the other side yet :p

I hope the worst is over too brotha. I believe i've officially paid my n00b taxes lol.

Anyway, have a good weekend brotha. Should be alot more to see next week :wheee:

Thread Starter

So i was planning on getting my rig booted up by now. But i've had all this acrylic just sitting around for a while now and i've kinda been itching to at least try to do something with it. So since i'm focusing on my mobo right now, i made my acrylic mobo tray i've been planning on.

I cut a panel out of 24x24" Translucent Red just about the size of the mobo since when this all eventually comes back together, space is gonna be precious. Then i just tapped the 6-32 threads into the acrylic for the standoffs. The plan is to have a White Acrylic midplate with a little slot routed out of it that my mobo tray will slide in and out of. For anybody that remembers me talking about a CL style removeable mobo tray, that's my current plans for how i'm gonna pull it off. Not sure if there's any flaws in that plan yet, but i have backup plans too =)

I'm also thinking of making an acrylic back panel for the mobo tray so i can have something to secure my 290x's to, also some feet for it. That way i can feel secure that my rigs running safely while i'm workin on the rest of my mods. I've been up for 2 days learning how to use my Dremel Trio and sanding and polishing this mobo tray, so i need to get some sleep. I'll decide what to do next after i wake up with a clear head :axesmiley

Edit: That MNPCTech Ruler isn't in that picture for any other reason except it's just my favorite damn tool. When i'm in my apartment, that thing's always within arms reach. The screw thread checkers are especially useful for anybody that doesn't already have one.

Anyway, i know the mobo tray isn't exactly flawless. But i'm planning alot of acrylic mods, and it seemed like a good time to try one out. I'm sure i'll get better with practice :o

Looking awesome man!

I have a quick question for you and it may sound stupid but I am gonna ask it anyway. I have always wondered how people make custom mobo trays. I understand the cutting of the piece to actually hold the motherboard but how do you make sure that the holes line up? I may just be over thinking things but I was curious what you used as I am going to be trying this pretty soon on one of my mods.

Big things come from small beginnings. All the cuts except for the top part are quite good. Doesn't really matter though since that part won't be visible from the outside. Keept it up!

@joostflux: I know you're asking kpoeticg, but I hope this helps somehow:
