I don't wanna do that at all
No deathwish. All i did was hook my rig up. I was working on it for a cpl hours. Had my mobo, aquaero, hdd, ssd, gpu, everything plugged into my PSU. As soon as i plugged the ac cable into the psu and flipped the switch, the mobo lit up which meant it was getting power, but i could smell that smell instantly so i pulled the plug right away.
First i was worried that i screwed something else up, and considering my entire build was plugged in, that woulda SUCKEDDDDD. Then i could tell that the smell only came from my PSU, also there was a noise in the PSU. I was completely convinced that my PSU was blown, either from leftover dried coolant, or maybe acrylic shavings from the past cpl days.
Since there's tamper seals on one screw of every panel, i just unscrewed the fan grill. I moved the fan around a little bit and could see some red spots inside the PSU, so i cleaned it off with a rag. Obviously i didn't touch the inside of the PSU with my fingers lol. Then i DataVac'd the hell out of the inside. And when i put it back together, it works perfectly.
That's why i think it was maybe just leftover dried coolant from a cpl weeks ago when my pump spit coolant everywhere. Mayhem's X1 is non-conductive, so probly wouldn't do any damage when it's dry
Not sure what i shoulda done different
