Yeah, i'd expect the Monsoon fittings to be imperial and compatible with the Primochill Tubing. But since the kits are 13/16mm i guess i'll just have to wait and see before i order my tubing

I'm really leaning towards the monsoon acrylic fittings tho if they come out soon.

Edit: NVM, after looking at the kits again i noticed that the 13mm kit is actually the "3/8 x 1/2" - 13mm Kit"

So looks like i'm probly gonna go with Primochill Tubing.

I need to make a final decision on this lighting/backdrop setup already. I've pretty much spent the entire past 2 or 3 days clicking my way through ebay and looking at different setups. =\

Now i need to decide between 13 & 16mm

I'm just gonna quote this post i just made in the HAF XB Club Thread in case anybody watching has any input that could help me work this out

get the 16mm as you will get more flow with it!! about the same size as the fittings!!!

Better flow with 16mm

To me I think you would be better off with the 16mm as they are about the same size as the fittings and will not lose any flow with these.. flow is good and important!!!

i used 3/8 id which is less then the 1/2 or 12mm acrylic tube's id. Shouldn't be an issue. Stick w/ 12mm as there's more options available.

Also, if you have a local plastics company, check if they have 1/2" od acrylic tube. I purchased 24' for ~$15 biggrin.gif and was just a ten minute trip.

no it would not be a issue but as you know the more flow the better. well up to a certain point. so I want more flow as I work with thermodynamics and use water to cool a lot of things. that is the reason i always say to use as big of tube as you can....

I agree about the bigger tubing. Before i decided on acrylic, i was gonna go either 1/2x5/8 or 1/2x3/4

It seems like there's little to no options for 16mm fittings tho

Maybe i'll just have to wait til Monsoon gives more info about their hardline fittings. I'm definitely gonna wanna have some red & white fittings in my rig, it seems like that wouldn't be possible with 16mm.

I got enough to do for my build right now anyway, and i might have to sacrifice my lighting setup for now if i grabbed the monsoon kit before xmas. So i got some time to think about it :thumb:

As far as thermals, there's no advantage wink.gif. I've ran heavily complicated loops using 3/8" id so there's no advantage other then aesthetics. I switched to 1/2" just for this reason tongue.gif. If you're going to go hard acrylic tube, go w/ either 1/2" od (primochill) or 12mm (bp, ek, e22, etc.). There's plenty of parts available and these sizes have been done extensively by others. Remember, this is a new territory so its best to ease in first imho thumb.gif

So my Ek Supremacy Plexi/Copper Clean CSQ was scheduled to arrive earlier today. It got processed through a local sort facility and never got delivered. I just checked the tracking and it just got processed through a New Jersey sort facility which is like a 6 hour drive from me.

Gah. I feel your pain! It is a terrible time of year for getting things shipped.

Yeah, and it doesn't help how friggin incompetent their tracking system is. I just wasted like 45 minutes on hold to talk to a rep who basically told me there's absolutely nothing she can do to help. She's like "well i dunno, maybe it got put in the wrong pile". Then kindly told me that it could either be on it's way back to me, or maybe on it's way back to california, or in the mystical land of Narnia...

And that maybe it was scanned in new jersey and maybe it wasn't....

Anyway, I spent a bunch of time last night messing with different ideas for how i wanna mount the acrylic over the PSU bracket. Also about halfway finished getting my front rad lined up. I should at least finish getting the rad lined up tonight. Then i can move forward with cutting the section out of the chassis for it and sorting out how i wanna reinforce the front.

I'll try to get a pic or 2 later with the rad placement & anything else i get accomplished tonight :thumb:
