Yeah, I remember calling PC's IBM's. Never had an old apple. I used to be like that with MS Paint tho. Just messing around with all the pretty colors LOL

I don't remember which windows it was then. Maybe the one b4 95.

I'm pretty sure NES was 85

Damn W, you got a pretty decent collection of retro gaming/computer stuff for some1 who's 18 tongue.gif

Thinking about it I have a lot of vintage/retro gear in my possession. I got two old valve radios, a mains Pye one from 1953 (working) and a 90v battery powered one (not sure what it is off the top of my head)

Love plugging the Pye one in and letting the valves warm up and then tune into some medium wave station.

The original loudspeaker was quote large so I replaced it with a smaller one of higher quality and better condition biggrin.gif

Had a project for that thing, intended to do a full acrylic case for it but that fell through because I had no idea how to implement it. Plus I already got rid of the wooden cabinet so it's sat on the top shelf gathering dust right now.

I guess I get it all from my dad really.

Snapped a quick photo with my phone of it where it lays in rest.

I was more having fun phishing on aol redface.gif

I always wanted to know what made them work and we usually had home built computers to go with the bought ones. AOL never liked it.. even in elementary I was building boards and programming. helping my dad. I could program and write code for a PLC before I had my drives license and I have been driving a long long time. forgot so much of what I use to know and did not really keep up with it after high school to busy with chasing girls and partying.. by the time I learned to do this correctly I was making good money but had left all the details far behind and was too behind to be able to take things down to board level again... but teaching my self slowing everything again!!!

think about it all the time how if I would have had a lot more knowledge that could make me money if I would have concentrated on tech items instead of learning how to catch and play with girls!!!!! I have had more fun with this in my life than the law should allow but I could have learned so much more that really could have helped me in life and professional life. Oh well live and learn.

^^^Exactly why i said i wish i was interested in the programming aspect when i was younger. By the time i was in high school, i really lost interest in computers =P

When i first had a computer, AOL was really the only gateway to the internet that i knew about

I love the old school topics. first comp game I played was on a apple IIe. the game was "masquerade". I had to type commands to get my toon to do what I wanted. "search bush", "open door", it was great. boy has gaming come a long way since the stone ages of typing command to get programs to run. before that I played pong on an Atari console. thought it was the greatest thing at the time. I would ride my bike to my only friend that owned on and it was about a mile from my house, but it was worth it.

I was not allowed to have game consoles, computers were for work and doing productive things with not gaming!!! so I never owned one or had one to play with.. the only game we had was like you said you actually had to think and type out commands, because that was teaching typing and thinking skills!!

We're a similar age I think wink.gif first computer here was a Radio Shack Model 1 with a tape cassette drive... also had a TI-99 4a, 8088, 8086, 80286, and up the line.

First one I built myself was a 486.
