But what I am trying to get at is do you guys think that a third 670 ftw would get me by until the 8xx series or is 2 670 ftws just fine, yes I'm getting the upgrade itch and have upgraded my cpu, mobo, and case. Just looking to see if adding a third 670 ftw would do anything for me since I know that SLI 670 FTWs are pretty damn good..
You'd get some improvement in average fps and definitely be able to raise the eye candy. Imho, your current setup is fine at least partially because again...imho...3GB+ cards will be must-haves for picky gamers (they already pretty much are for widescreen stuff like 5760x1080) so it's not really worth spending more on your graphics, since you're looking at 1440p, for a few fps and a little more eye candy.
You've got loads of options if you're itchy, though! Keep what you've got but plan for an upgrade in ~18 months, get a 660 as was also recommended, sell your 2GB cards while they've still got value and upgrade to a pair of 3GB+ cards, +
