Moving. Need I store pc.

So I am going to be moving and I need to know what to do about my computer. I don't assume I will have a place to set it up for a while so I am guessing it will not be in use. Is there anything special I need to do with it? Is it just a mater of taking the parts off the letting them dry out? It's a 240 rad CPU block swiftech pump and a large tube reservoir so I can remove both ends and that will dry up easy. I have more tube so I don't care about that part if it's not salvageable (I assume it will dry up and crack anyways).

Personally, I would disassemble the whole system and put everything back in the boxes, assuming you kept them. I always do. If not, I would drain the system and remove any PCIe cards you have plugged into the motherboard and store them in another box (packaged up, like you were going to ship them somewhere).

Well the water loop will be fine for extended periods in storage without any special measures. I left mine for 6 months without doing anything to it and it was fine. So long as the loop is properly sealed or the case is going to stay the right way up there is no need to drain it.

As for any potential damage from moving - if you still have the original case box then use that (I store mine for that reason), otherwise wrap it in bubble wrap / towels / clothes and put it in a box.

The only thing I would be worried about are the PCIe cards. You can remove these if you want, however when I shipped my case with UPS I secured the free corner of my GPU to the case with string. There is usually a hole in the PCB that you can use, otherwise wrap the string round the power connectors and tie it off to the case above and below the card.

If you are worried about anything going missing then remove the HDD / SSD and take them separately (I did that when shipping my PC).

Yeah I keep the boxes as well. I didn't even think about the GPUs, probably would have while I was draining it. I'm not sure how it will be sitting in my car so draining it is my only option. I guess I could refill it once I arrive at my new home considering that doesn't require anything but an outlet and a paperclip lol. I wont be shipping it, but I have the packing foam that my case was packed with, so I'll just remove the water and GPUs and then put it in the box I guess. If I have the plugs still I may just take out the tube as well anyways and plug all the holes again as I have to take out my res to get my GPUs out anyways (HAF X is a big case, but not big enough -.- WTB 900D).

Anyways, thanks guys.
