by keeping the IPad 2 at a $399 price, the consumer is going to think they're really getting a quality experience. It used to be, but now, the IPad 2 is really starting to struggle performance wise. The facebook app in particular is a pain to use. The internet browser can't keep up with the latest feature set websites, and most importantly, all these latest apps and games are going to be geared to the latest retina screens.
For $399 people will be purchasing a segmented product.
