R9 290 = 100% memory bus, memory size, ROPs, etc. of R9 290X
R9 290 = 2x the shaders, TMUs, ROPs and memory bandwidth of the HD7870 Pitcairn XT. At 1 Ghz it should be double the compute of the HD7870GE (2560Gflop) too. This means if it launches ~$400-450 it would be a better value than 7870/R9-270X crossfire in so many ways...power consumption for one (250W to 300W vs 2 x ~175W)
Keep in mind TITAN still has 224 TMUs, 192 TMUs on GTX 780, 128 on GTX 770.
The R9 290 would be right in between (halfway literally) GTX 780 and GTX 770...
If the 290 were to performance twice as well as the 7870 at the same clockspeed, it should theoretically be better than the Titan (at stock). But we already know that won't be the case since the 290x leaks tell us that the 290x is a match for the Titan. So what's up with the discrepancy? Where does the scaling go wrong?
