Then again I don't see the point of tablets... We're official Apple resellers, and we sell a truckload of other tablet brands at the shop, and even having used them for hundreds of hours, I still find them pretty pointless devices.
I use tablets for one very important reason: reading. I like the clarity of the digital words on a high-res screen, the ability to take a slim mobile device anywhere, and the fact that I don't have to carry around 5+ books, I have them all stored on the tablet. I also like that I can make the font however big or small I want, unlike printed books. There's consistency with tablets. I can even read web articles in a book format. For any other purpose I find a laptop or phone is better.
A drawback is when you place yourself in a situation where you can't recharge it. Grab a book when you go camping with grandpa.

Competitors offer that. Asus has minimum 32gb tablet for 499 or 449.

On these forums people do know about 8.1, being generally more tech savvy, but the trend is set with that false start they made and it continues to this day.
I hate Windows 8 and 8.1 on my touchscreen laptop and there's no way I would consider buying a tablet with such fury it causes me.

Yes I am concerned. That may be the deciding factor for me. If it comes out with 1GB I will reanalyze the whole market in detail, but if it comes with at least 2GB I'll pick one up.Edited by SkillzKillz - 10/23/13 at 4:44pm
