I'm not a big cloud user either. I've got hundreds of gigabytes spreads across dropbox, sky drive, icloud, and google. I use less than 1% of it.

You're not the only one. The only thing I use "the cloud" for is a backup for my saved games. I can't think of anything else I'd use it for that I couldn't use a USB drive or external hard drive and I certainly don't trust any one else to have anything remotely personal.

I love Google Drive. I have Docs that I "Create application shortcuts..." for in Chrome. I can pin them to my taskbar and launch them in their own, clean window. Changes are instantly saved to the cloud, and I can access and edit them on my phone or anywhere on the fly. I've really come to like and use it a ton.

Assume you're using Google's document editors? I got a ton of storage with Google Drive when I bought a Chromebook but it's hard for me to adjust to anything but MS Office. Skydrive is meh. Any syncing I do usually happens over my local network manually rather than relying on any service.

Their interface is plenty robust for my needs, and I would assume it is for most others as well. All the basic functionality is there and then some. No service or manual syncing/saving is required. It loads in a separate/streamlined Chrome window that allows it to basically mimic just another application on the computer, and changes are saved on the fly, literally a second or two after each thing you type. There is an option to make docs available offline if you need access to them when not connected to the internet.
