Budget MITX build...

Thread Starter
So, I'm new to the forum and I thought I would show off my latest build!
Here are the specs!

AMD A10-5800K Black Edition
GIGABYTE FM2 AMD Motherboard Model#: GA-F2A85XN-WIFI
Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB 1600MHz
WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive,
LG Electronics 24X SATA Super-Multi DVD,
Cooler Master Seidon 120M,
CM120 Elite MITX Case,
CX430M PSU

runs good, not fast enough for me but should be great for my father in law who only surfs the web, does school and email on it..

Its a little warm inside, i've got 1 more 120 fan i want to mount on the side, i was also thinking of throwing in a GTX 660 in there to see how it would fit...

I think i listed everything there, running win. 7 64b as well.

Thanks! The hardest part of this for me was drilling out the rivets for the hdd bay.. the bay took up half the case! Couldnt think of any where else to put the radiator...

I would still also like to remount the hdd maybe place it on the side so I can do a push pull fan config for the front.

Anyone have any ideas to improve airflow in this case?

Are you putting a GPU in this rig? If not, why? Space constrictions?

At first no. Because the only use for this pc is web surfing, youtubing, microsoft office. And thats pretty much it. I think the apu can handle all of that.

But now im thinkin of iust throwing my gtx 660 in it so I can upgrade my gfx card.
If you can find a better use for that 660, I would do that. The 5800k you have in there will HD Youtube and Netflix all day long. Ive been building A4-3400 systems for clients as Netflixers and they work great. Besids, you are going to start pushing the limits of your PSU if you add a big ol 660.

@Wizard-- Thanks I had not even considered straining my PSU with the 660...

@M2N The entire system is EXTREMELY quiet.

@Kitten- Thank you! aaaaand I want to go to Norway... just thought I'd throw that out there..

I was talking to a friend of mine and showing him this build yesterday, and we came up with a different way to mount the HDD. This will allow me to add another fan to the radiator for a push/pull config, and another 120 fan to bring some air into the case.

Now I have to find a place where i can pick up some aluminum sheets so I can make a HDD mount for where I want to put it!
