Question about Crossfire

Thread Starter
So recently I noticed that my crossfire HD 6850's may not be working properly. Both cards show up in the overdrive section of the catalyst software and I have crossfire enabled. The question I have is, isn't crossfire supposed to split the load of games and stuff between the cards equally? When I play a game one card will show about 60-90% activity while the second only shows about 5-10% activity. It says they are both clocked and the same speeds. Is there something wrong here? or is that the way its supposed to be? I need a way to make sure its working, I dont want to sit here thinking i'm getting everything I can from these cards when Im really not. Thanks for any help.

Are you playing in full screen?

Easiest way to make sure it's working is probably to run a standard benchmark like 3dmark11 (or 3dmark 13 firestrike) and post your score so we can check it.

What are the rest of your system specs?

What is the rest of your hardware and what games are you trying to play? Some games don't utilize crossfire properly while others scale almost up to a perfect 2x.

My specs are
GIGABYTE GA-990XA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990X SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
2 x PowerColor AX6850 1GBD5-DH Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W High Performance 80PLUS Silver SLI CrossFire Intel Haswell Ready Power Supply

As for games, WoW, SSF4, L4D2, Bioshock Infinite. Probably my most played.

Ill go ahead and download 3dmark and post the results for you guys, should I run it once with and once without crossfire enabled?

I wouldn't be surprised if WoW performs poorly - it doesn't behave well with crossfire. L4D2 and Bioshock Infinite should work fine, though (I dunno if SSF4 works well or not with CF).

If you are playing below 1080p, you may be CPU bottlenecked.

Yeah your right on the nose, WoW doesn't perform to what I would expect, but Bioshock, L4D both run flawlessly. Still about to run the bench. Thanks for your help guys I really appreciate it.
