Good simple Mobo question

Thread Starter
Good morning all, I am looking for a Micro ATX board for my 350D, I keep hearing "find something with Phase 4+2 or better" I also hear AMD does not currently make a Micro ATX board that can meet that requirement.

How are you guys finding out if a board is 4+1 or better? I dont see this information listed on Newegg and not really sure where do be looking.

For reference I am looking at either an FX-6300 or 8320 or sticking with my current 960T but regardless I need a decent MicroATX board and this looks like my only option

GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G

Also im a patient man and if new boards are on the horizon I can wait.

Thanks all,

Ive been using that exact same board as a test bench for a while now. Stable and relatively cool running, even with a 100w processor I stuffed in it. I did have some heat issues with the FX-4130 and the stock cooler. But I put on an aftermarket cooler and all seems well.

The 4+1 people are talking about is the amount of power phasing the motherboard has. Below, the red arrows point to the phase coils. I'm not exactly sure how power phasing works, or even how to tally the total count, but I believe this is a 4+1 motherboard.

With OC'ing on a 4+1 is it an issue with heat or is it the issue with how the power is distributed?
