Amd is doing better with k8 than intel with netburst - Page 3

man I had a motherboard once where both companies worked together, it was a am386 40mhz with a 33mhz intel coprocessor and man that thing ran like a bat out of hell, I remember going on the net with win95 and a 14k modem and viewing the coloured apple imacs.

im selling my 939 and going C2D. then when amd strikes back i am selling c2d and getting that. im gonna move along with the market and try to (even with my limited funds) stay on the high end of technology. however, if anyone can convince me to keep my system, really i love AMD, Intel is like Windows and AMD struggles to compete with the OCers on its side .
ALSO, K8 OWND!!!!!!!!!!!! *** is wrong wiht u ppl saying "C2D owns K8"???? YOU CANT COMPARE!!!! K8 was introduced so long be4 C2D so it better be worse otherwise intel is playing really bad catchup. and u know what?? K8 still owns every other kind of intel produced around the same time, even the Dual core Pentium series.

Jori it's 50 dollars buddy. Who would build a rig that cant even touch a rig they could've bought for 50 dollars more...? Grandmothers maybe.

Here's an analogy.

A Drag Car - $1900
A Mustang - $1850

You're looking to win races... Get the point?

$50 in your pocket, or 20 more FPS in games? Heck, $50 more on a video card would be better than the faster processor in games. But why spend $50 more for extra frames your probably not going to use, as a 3800+ X2 will play any game there is right now just fine.

I love the, "you can't compare a new architecture to a old one" line. Well guess what. You compare the best of each side. The world doesn't care when your equipment came out. It is all about what you have, right now.

What are you doing at Overclock.net - The Pursuit of Performance?

It is very plain:

Core 2 Duo E6300 $184
Gigabyte P965-DS3 $135

Total: $319

X2 3800+ (AM2) $139
Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5 $164.99

Total: $303.99

Hmmm.... Should I fork out $15 for a vastly superior system, or should I go get a couple of Big Macs?

Uhh.. SLI board vs non SLI board helloo? Or how about my motherboard for $80? Whats the point of comparing those two boards? Is the AMD one just to jack up the price to make it skewed?

Try what, $95 more for it?

And again, the 3800+ will play any game fine.
