Looking to upgrade my video card, going to have $400 Canadian to spend and that has to include shipping+tax. Whats the best card in my budget for my system that will run on my rosewill capstone 550w. Going to be buying from newegg.ca. Thanks.

You could get a good brand R9 280X or a 7970 Ghz edition for probably slightly less then 400$ shipped + tax. That would probably be the best performance for 400$.

This. Or if you are looking at nvidia, an overclocked GTX 670 has good performance per dollar.

$400? too much. the 7950 is about twice as fast as the 6950. you're going to have to oc your cpu. you might get a golden.

I am going to overclock but also need a different motherboard which is my next purchase, so your saying not to buy anything over a 7950?

if you are at stock clocks. i would advise raising it to 4.3 - 4.5GHz for anything 7950 and up. your budget is too close for a R9 290, which i read can be flashed to a 290X and is able to trade blows with the Titan. that will give you better longevity. 2cents.gif

edit: also, the price of the 780 is starting to plunge (at least in Europe).
