So , getting a firestrike score of around 9245 repeatable.

stock asus r9 290x - g - 4gd5 , screaming like hell with coilwhine when doing the 3dmark tests.

memorysize gets faulty reported everywhere , when it has to actually look it up and not read it from a bios string.

asus gputweak cant even read memory usage. only gpu-z can read gfx memory usage.

on a asus p8-z77m board with i7-3770@3.4 with 16GB corsair dominator platinum, powered by corasir hx650w.

its all a bit too little performance from that card. + the whine , who can stand that, my cat sure as hell cant.

AND i am wondering how many people BOUGHT this card in an UNsealed box ??

makes me wonder, how many guys have allready tried it, before i bought it off the shelf, and might have broken something ...

or maybe amd made a good first batch ummong which are all the press models, and a second batch where

they allready started saving money like on other memory, and those cards will never get the same performance ?

My vanilla 290 scores better than that. I would venture to say your card is no good. But I'm no expert. Which drivers and OS?

So it looks like my build will not be completed by this year, and may well be delayed till Mid-January at this rate. I am hesitating on selling my GPUs since they overclocked so well, but I am putting up both cards and EK blocks/backplates on craigslist for now- let's see. I might as well sell them now and buy them (or non-reference versions) back in January.

If you don't mind me asking, why the delay? Seems kinda counterintuitive to lose money and get GPUs that don't OC as well.

Is coil whine really that common? My sapphire doesn't have it, however the fan does whine a bit at high RPMs.

My motherboard requires an RMA and ASUS's response made it seem like it would be a while. Also, I will very likely have to send back my custom reservoir and that also will be another delay. Hopefully I won't lose much given the recent demand for these cards, so let's see.

I am considering eBay also but only as a last resort. Too many sharks over there who could claim they never got the card(s).

A decent amount of people have it.

My card has more buzz than whine, when under load it makes a noise like an electric razor. It's gotten a bit quieter over time but is still audible.

That sucks man, RMA processes are like going to the dentist, even when they go well they're still a hassle.
