VRM2: 49 Degrees C

Voltage on full load: 1.344

MSI Afterburner used for overclocking with +100mV

I am noticing that people who add aftermarket cooler like Accelero have higher VRM temps compared to reference cooler.

Noob question but how do I change voltage? I installed the newest driver, newest MSI AB and i checked the 2 voltage control options in AB. I slide the voltage and apply but it goes back to 0. I have a Sapphire 290

Have you changed the settings to allow overclocking?

I'm not sure what you mean by that. I can overclock the core and memory as of right now tho

I'm pretty sure there are settings that you have to change to allow voltage tweaks.

Look around in MSI AB's settings, I think the one you want to change is to allow unofficial overclocking.

Also, is 1.32 a safe max voltage for the VRMs as I was told by someone this is unsafe, they run at a max temp of 78 Degrees C

Cheers!

Very few cards that unlock are True 290X cards, I have owned both a 290 and 290X and the 290X is a faster gpu.
Synthetic benchmarks don't matter, play BF4 maxed out no AA @1440P with both a 290 and 290X and look at the performance difference.

Anyway, tempted to flash my cards with the Asus bios, need proper voltage control and AB just isn't giving it to me.

i wasn't able to control voltage with afterburner either. I enabled everything in it afaik and had the latest version.

I have the asus bios flashed to my 290x and uses gpu tweak to mess with voltage.

You need AB beta 17, or later for voltage control.

Is it the old trick of changing some value from 0 to 1 in notepad? If not, i'll post some screenshots tonight!

1.32v before droop or 1.32 actual? If you're running 1.32v actual (during load, you can check via GPU-z) I'd say it's a bit much if you're on air cooling.

1.32v before droop should be fine. Your VRM temps don't seem bad either. Keep them under 85c to be safe, although they can technically go over 100c.

I think, I honestly can't stand MSI AB so I stick with GPUTweak or Precision X.
