Yea I agree. I will try to get some more juice into my cpu, as was suggested, however, it is 24/7 stable otherwise in bf3 and 4 and I didn't have these issues with the cpu with my CF 6970. only thing that changes was the cards. since i have em i have those black and red screens. However, i have had that maybe 6 times total, at random it seems.

So my experience with 3X xfx290, first card with 78.6% asic pass valley 1200/1250 with +160 with artifacts, other card 74.5 asic 1200/1250 pass valley with +130 and the third XFX 290 is not the best..... if i will put more than +60 voltage or more than stock memory (overclockover 1300) getting some lines and artifacts..... max what i can reach with those card is 1130/1250 smile.gif

Anybody here using the newest Beta drivers?

I updated yesterday and my 3dMark11 scores have dropped ~400 pts in the GPU category... What the heck? Now my overall score is under 15k again.

Gonna try rolling back drivers.

GPU score before was ~17.4k, now it's around 17k.

I never disable tess. Causes misleading scores.

Re-ran the bench a couple times, highest GPU score I can get now is 17.2k.

Add a 600rpm 90mm fan and that lowers it a couple more degrees.

As long as there is something on them I wouldnt worry at all. Or just a draft going over them is enough.

The long line of VRMs is the one that burns up when overclocking.

This. The cluster of 3 doesnt heat up really, can just passively cool it with a bit of air flow. Its the line of VRMs that burn up pretty quick. I'm thinking of getting a Krake, assuming i dont sell this extra XFX 290X.

This is the highest I can get now: 15001, gpu 17210 physics 11251
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7661511

Compared with this: 15115 gpu 17436 physics 11225
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7540268

What the heck is going on here? I re-installed the 9.2 driver but I'm still not getting the same performance. And 3dmark won't add any of my results to my results list. Ugh FM's software is so buggy sometimes.

Because it's too expensive and defeats the purpose of buying these cards for price/performance.
I agree unless already own one & only need to add water block for the GPU. I personally think if you want, you can always water cool only the GPU. This way it's not going to cost you much.

I think I'm using latest one 13.11 beta 9.5. However I didn't use previous driver, so I don't know if there is anything wrong with the latest driver.

I am currently running 2 sapphire r9-290's stock cooling as of now, my EK blocks are on there way. Is it normal for my top card to idle @ 90c? Bottom card is idling at 45c. Case is an nzxt switch 810.
