28296 - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7658372

Have you tried running with Frame Pacing off?

Throttling maybe?

Tighter timings on my memory also, 2400/9-10-10-24-1t, 3dm11 likes tighter timings.
And those scores are with fp disabled.

The 290 came up short in pretty much all game (non synthetic) benches at 1080p with high AA compared to a 780 at 1137Mhz boost. A stock 780 and 290 are pretty close but the stock 290 at 1100Mhz loses to a 780 at 1200+Mhz in pretty much anything except maybe BF3 / BF4 / Dirt / Sleeping Dogs.

What I did notice is that the minimum - average - maximum FPS difference is a lot smaller for the AMD's. The 780's have larger frame variance.

Really? The nvidia cards do overclock higher I know that but im not so sure I believe that the nvidia cards out perform the 290/x at 1080p. You also have to remember the drivers for the 290/X are very immature and the nvidia drivers are super optimized and the 290/X still equals or betters the 780TI in most games.

Just for example

My graphic card died a week ago (460 crashed and doesn't work with drivers anymore), and I am a huge gamer so these are my options.

1. Buy this card r9 290 bf4, 355€. Good Quality/Price +bf4, but noisy and hot and maybe later buy an aftermarket cooling. (voiding warrantly)
http://www.pccomponentes.com/sapphire_r9_290_4gb_gddr5_battlefield_4_edition.html

2. Wait for the new models to get here, windforce etc

3. Buy a nvidia card 770 for 305€ or a r9 280X 275€ +bf4

I'm gonna play at 1080p, I know it would be enought a r9 280x but I really want a r9 290 with good cooling.

I know you gonna say that I should wait because I made my mind already but I dont really want to wait for a month to be able to buy a card.
