Is there are need for G Sync with those who are using 144Hz displays?
Cheers.

help needed here guys

i have unlocked my sapphire 290 bf4 edition to 290x and tried variuos 290x bios'es but UEFI never works. Using win 8.1. Do any of you have any idea what could be wrong? or maybe someone who has it working in UEFI can provide a vbios so I can rule out the gpu and look into my motherboard or smth? cheers.

I installed the new drivers over the old ones and in Valley I am losing more than 150 points, plus it's stuttering like hell. I am going to disinstall everything and clean in Safe Mode, then reinstall the new ones so hang on.

Thanks, I've been happy with 13.11 WHQL but free performance is always nice.

Uninstalled all AMD software in Safe Mode using DDU, reinstalled the new drivers and disabled ULPS: result is the same in Valley. I am going to bench Hitman now.

EDIT: Both Tomb Raider and Hitman benchmarks are stuttering like crazy with the new drivers.

EDIT 2: The drivers work well if Frame Pacing is disabled.

After buying a second hand r9 290x and turning out to be dodgy since he shipped it with the block on and didn't drain it properly.
It was artifact and crashing I got my back for the card but kept the EK FC full cover block and back plate.

So combine that with the EK FC full cover block that is sitting on the desk staring at me, I think I will have a good time but even better if it has a 2000 chip that is unlock-able!

Should arrive on Monday so I'll have a full 2 days to play with it! thumb.gif
