What is your load voltage? 1.18V sounds like it is either voltage adjusted idle or non-volage adjusted load. But it certainly isn't +200mV load.

It always says that, for some reason.

Thanks for advice though. Will look into the Vanguard.
I have a Silent Pro M 600W. I really like it since its the only truly silent PSU i've found. Every other "silent" psu either whines, too high idle fan RPM, fan ticking, buzzing, etc. This one has developed a faint buzz at load but nothing major.

The fan on my Seasonic X650 and the AX760i I used to have rarely ever turn on unless I'm maxing out CPU and GPU simultaneously. When it does spin, it's inaudible over the case fans which are low RPM Fractals.

same on mine, but it only shows that way when I use Asus and PT1 BIOS, when I use stock bios of the card it shows right.

Probably because of the BIOS itself, but I don't really use Asus BIOS on the daily basis, only when benchmarking that needs better voltage than AB can do right now.

And thanks.

Hi everyone!

I am owner of a R9 290. Yesterday I put the Arctic Cooling Xtreme III on it. I am mining with it 24/7. The core-temp is great: 73° @ 42% fan, when mining @ 690 KH/s.
I am not shure about the VRM-temps. Maybe you can help me.

In IDLE-mode the VRM 1 is @ ~55° and VRM 2 is @ ~50°.

When I am starting mining, this happens:

After a two minutes:

I am wondering about the difference between both VRM's. What do you think?

- How can I reduce the VRM 1 temp and how do I know which VRM's on my R9 290 are connected to VRM 1?
- Any ideas, how I can cool down the VRM 1?
- Is the difference between VRM 1 and VRM 2 normal?

Best regards!

690? Sell it and get a 280x for mining

EK Block was just delivered. Sadly I don't have time to do the install until Tuesday. Also the block wasn't polished so I'll be doing that as well.

EK Acetal 290X Waterblock
EK 290X Backplate (repacked into the EK box for my travel)
Primochill 1/2 | 3/4 Tubing Dark Blue
Arctic MX-4
Fillport
Swiftech Compression Fittings
Myriad of Swiftech 90° & 45° Rotary Adapters
I & H Silver Coil

Not pictured, but waiting at my holiday destination:

Fujipoly Extreme pads
Indigo Xtreme XS for LGA115X
Fesar Base Corrosion Inhibitor

- Reduce it with heatsinks and fans, good airflow as airflow by itself will not be neough, suckers get hot! VRM1 are related to the GPU Core and VRM2 are for memory. VRM1 is a long strip that is close to the end of the card. VRM2 is a 3-piece cluster that is closer to the front of the card (bracket).
- honestly, to cool it better than the stock HSF, I would go with a watercooling block, especially if you mine. Although, I've seen people gut the stock cooler and use it in conjunction with the ACXIII.
- The temp difference is normal. VRM1 will usually be hotter (sometimes significantly more) than VRM2 since the core is more demanding than the memory is.
