Furmarking Both cards = massive power requirement biggrin.gif

My 900W UPS started going nuts, looked at the screen it was showing i was pulling 1.2kw with just my 2 290x's running furmark at 1150/1400 +50% power.... i can't imagin if i added my CPU into the mix running prime95, i don't think my EVGA 1300 G2 would have enough power, the cpu and gpus idle pulls almost 500w from the wall.

Hy boys...

I have XFX R290 @ 290X mod with bios ASUS and max voltage of 1.41V on GPU TWEAK, real 1.117V on gpu-z. The bios is revision 3515.
There is an other bios to have higher voltage ?

Thanks

Ya, seems fine for a stock setting. You can expect major increase when you overclock the cards.

Edit: I did a quick comparison against my CFX 290x cards (at 1100/1300) when I was testing them out prior to putting on water blocks on everything. Even with my stock 4770k at 3.5 Ghz, my physics score is way higher than your 2500k at 4.8 Ghz. I suspect your CPU will bottleneck those cards quite a bit.

This is mine compared with yours. Your graphic score seems low though. Maybe because of CPU?

[EDIT] You're running Extreme benchmark. LOL. tongue.gif

Well I did fire strike extreme and you did fire strike normal. Here is my firestrike normal test:

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/1947989

I got a bit higher graphics score than yours, actually!

I'm pretty sure every piece of hardware is just fine.

I haven't done a clean Windows install since September, and since then I've gone through two 7970's, then one 290X, which had these issues, then another one from RMA with same issues, and now these two 290's having same issue.

I'm pretty sure 4 cards can't have this issue by hardware, or I hope not. tongue.gif
i have some black screens because of 120hz, when i switch to 60hz my monitor, everything looks ok smile.gif

Yeah I expect to upgrade soon to a 3770k, since I can use the same mobo for it. Should be a reasonable upgrade!
