This would happen even with the second, the second in crossfire is not 100 percent.

Hi ALL!!!...

I have finally finished reading about half of this threads posts!.... and First let me say, love the info. Stated not knowing much to now feeling much more confident with my decision to eventually hit up Watercooling and taking this OC hobby head on.

I have a R9 290X. Bought it on Cyber Monday from Newegg for 490$... biggrin.gif

Here is a screenshot of my GPU-Z.

Been doing some reading on the GPU-Z, and from what I gather a lower ASIC score means it will OC by Watercooling better than a higher score and a higher score will OC better by Air?

I was hoping my card would rate atleast a 75%,...not sure how thrilled I am that my card gets a "D" in the rating system...

I don't buy Cards very often so the thought of RMA'ing this one just for the score has crossed my mind, but then I got confused by Exactly what that score means in real world Games OC'ing if you will be going the Watercooling route.

I don't think so.. Just ran FS to see what my FX-8350 and GTX 580 max OC'ed could do in comparison to a 290/290x..

I put PhysX on CPU (which actually gets a higher Physics score by a few hundred)

Hey guys,
I'm having some REALLY annoying issues with my R9 290, whenever I even slightly start to overclock, I get blackscreens and occasional bluescreeen, is this normal or should I RMA it?

It also (not very often though) bluescreens/blackscreens on stock

Thanks!

No, you have 1 physical processor with 8 threads. The only way it would say 8/something is if you had it running in an 8-way server. It is # of physical processors / # of logical processors (threads). Someone with a 3570K would see 1/4 instead of 1/8. I've looked at dozens of these in the Firstrike thread, and they always say 1/something.

For example:

Yeah, noticed. Thx for clearing it up though.

Question for you guys. Did anyone get a 290 or 290x from Tigerdirect.com? It seems like they haven't had any stock since the first week the card came out. Best "new" AMD card they have for sale is an R7 260x. lol.. I have a credit account with them that is just waiting for stock of reference or aftermarket cards to come in so I can pull the trigger.

Actually, I found an R9 270x that was mis-named as an R9270x.. woohoo!

Oh, and they're just as bad as Newegg.. $449 for a reference 7950
