Well, it shouldnt find too much more stress in one frame than the last... of course 100% load isnt always the same (furmark vs game), but its still a more comparable metric IMO.

Here is mine, using "typical" (It generally stays at these numbers)
MHz:vCore
1000: 1.156
1050: 1.148
1100: 1.141

No voltage change, just clockspeed.

And typical, OCCT:

1000: 1.094
1050: 1.086
1100: 1.078

So you can see the trend there is down; higher OC -> higher power draw -> greater vDroop.

And just to be sure, here is 1180, with +80mV since there is no way in hell mine will do that with stock.

1100: 1.219
1180: 1.211

So I dont see that the card might have some sort of anti-droop mechanism clicking in at higher clocks.

Finally! With +200mV and 1100, voltage is 1.32v.

now, you got me confuse, too. i do not have to use the offset in Trixx when only benching at 1175 and this is without artifacts. i can do the same up to 1180 but it artifacts. i have to use an offset of +200 in Trixx to bench at 1300. i just checked my minimum VDDC after benching at 1300 and GPUz showed 1.15v (lol). Max was 1.39v.

Right, the reason I use +80mV is because my card wont do it with stock voltage. This is why im calling it a useless "measure", because stock voltage varies from card to card. Yours seems to be 5% higher than mine, at any given voltage.

Also when I say minimum I mean minimum while doing 3d. wink.gif 1.15v must have been idle mode. .95v+200mv = 1.15v tongue.gif (Offset voltages of course apply to idle and 3d voltages)

I just watched the GPU-Z voltage and recorded whatever it stabilized at.

P.S. I am totally jelly of your card but that isnt why im debating this with you wink.gif

yeah sir i just tried to bechmark but iim not using my card overclock when gaming at all.

im happy that i can unlock my card though but im waiting for nzxt g10 and vrm cooling

my asic score is only 67.5 percent

Hey I having issues with my XFX R9 290 volt droop.
I'm using standard bios and it is water-cooled so temps never break 65.

In these two pictures is me running furmark and the graphs in afterburner are show very unstable core clock and vcore.

I've read that flashing the PT1 bios can help but will it work considering my card isn't unlock-able?
Could I be due for a new power supply?(currently 850w)
Is there any other solutions?

where about the same sir... stock settings or unlock 290x bios still unstable gpu load and votlage,..but i dont know why are cards are like this..

using stock cooler for the card

Well good news is that prices may go down once every custom PCB gets out, Asus DCUII was priced at 569.99 MSRP (290X) so that's 10bucks lower than launch price of a reference 290X.. only thing that is really OVERLY marked up is the 290's, which is over 100bucks more than what it costs on launch.

If my card does 1200 Core on +100mV, how high do you think it will clock with +200mV?
Could 1200 still be the highest it goes?, or will it most likely be higher? Think I can manage 1300 MHz?

keep the temps down and go for gold! There are people hitting 1250+ with added 200mv. Not alot though

My first 290X reached 1275 on core using Asus BIOS with GPU tweak, I set GPU tweak at 1.450v but from what I have seen whatever you see on GPU tweak is not really the voltage you're getting and you are actually getting lower voltage if I remember it right.. I haven't been OCing lately, still need to put back my waterblock on my new 290X. procrastinating, just feel too lazy lately with all these foods from the holidays xD
