Yeah, I almost always use my PC while it is mining, I can even play less graphic intensive games like CS:GO or TF2. Not too much of a hit to hashrate.

Awesome man!

For a moment I thought that meant 1400..mV, hehe, that would be incredible.

Is that game stable?

PS: That's in Windowed mode, that's why 2nd GPU is not used at all, in Fullscreen it does the same thing but with both GPU's, not just GPU1.

Since you mentioned this, I also got the same issue, poor FPS & fluctuating clock frequency on the second GPU. Re-installing the driver & switching the GPU slots (my Hynix card tend to run hotter than Elpida when Hynix at first slot) fixed the issue.

Does that seem like a decent overclock ?

With Trixx I can get the Vcore to +200 while AB only alows for +100 but I don't really see the point of it. I could do Firesrike without any artifacting with +200 and power limit to +50 with 1220/1750MHz but the card makes an awfull whine noise so I wouldn't leave it at that.
Now that I think about it. With my usual overclock (1100/1300MHz with Vcore and Power Limit @stock) on some BF4 maps the card whines a little bit and on others it doesn't at all. What's that about ? Not that it really bothers me considering that when I do play I have my headset on anyway.

Oh and what are other water cooling users' temps like ? I have two 280mm rads and the GPU stays under 50 if I don't play much (as in about an hour) but I saw it go up to 57°C yesterday. Not much to worry about but when I see that people running those custom heatsinks or AiOs with the NZXT adaptator getting only a couple degrees more (with near stock VRM temps though ^^) it makes me wonder if there's not something wrong with my loop.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

EDIT: Sooner or later I'll probably be chuking a second one in there so I can fully benefit of a good monitor.
I guess 290/290X produced a lot of heat. Usually at stock clock to mild overclock, 40s Celsius is the target temp most GPUs get, depends on the ambient of course. In high ambient, >30C, temp will be around 50s Celsius. These are temp in games though. I guess with 290/290X, the number may be slightly higher.

Same here, no major problem at all. Happy as a clam.

That is good news I guess. The only thing I can think of try fresh driver installation. Uninstall current driver usind DDU & re-install the driver again.

290 or 290X? 850W too little for 3 cards. I wouldn't go below 1000W. 1200W should be your minimum.

I installed it in my system (That has a GTX670 as the main GPU) but the AMD CCC doesn't display the performance tab, I can't overclock.

Even MSI Afterburner and Sapphire Trixx can't read the clocks and fan speed of the card, ASUS overclocking tool only reads the GTX670.

Latest driver is installed (13.12 WHQL), any suggestions??
You probably need to disabled ULPS. MSI AB & TriXX should be able to pick up your card afterwards, as well as Performance tab in CCC.

Well my 3rd 290X arrived today! I placed the order in the afternoon Christmas eve and it arrived today the 27th at 12pm. Excellent!!! Thanks scorptec.com.au in Clayton!!!

Well what can I say not much room between the cards LOL. It looks good though. I wonder how hot these bad boys will get? I probably should finally invest in water cooling but I have to wait and see if we build a new house or not.

Well I ran the new TriFire 290x setup with Firestrike Extreme and loved the results on stock settings. These cards are monsters for the price and I'm very happy with them. I had TriSli Titans and they were good as well but now after one benchmark I can see both sides of the coin. AMD get better FPS numbers but Nvidia do it a bit smoother. Basically thats the difference Ive seen after one benchmark LOL. Im sure this could all change after some proper gaming time.

FIRESTRIKE EXTREME RESULTS:
Trifire 290X - Stock = x12097 (on air)
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1411481

Crossfire - Mild/Slight overclock = x8925 (on air)
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1188972

Crossfire - Stock = x8699 (on air)
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1188953

Single 290X - Stock = x5004 (on air)
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1178643

Tri Sli Titans - Best Overclock with one or two artifacts = x13246 (I Ringed their necks on air)

Msi Afterburner max clock on Memory is 1625 Mhz? IF someone wanted to take that a little bit higher how would you accomplish that? Use other software like Trixx or something?

My card can't go higher then 1200Mhz Core on air, even from making the jump from +100mV to +200mV. should it be possible to go higher once underwater? or will it probably not, the GPU now doesnt get hotter then 80 degrees and VRM1 and VRM2 stay beneath 60 degrees on air, would it make a difference that once underwater the temperatures are a lot cooler and will that help to be able to get a little bit more Core clock or not?

I had a similar issue but only with using a single card, my core clock wouldn't reach the core clock I had set in MSI AB even though my temps where very good, the issue for me was I had to enable Power Limit to 50% and don't leave it on 0% once I upped the power limit my clocks where the same under load then what was set in MSI AB. Maybe that will help you if you didn't do that already.

Well, just got my 290 under water today. Getting a max of 52C while mining at 100%. I assume this is about the norm? VRM's are vrm1 = 51c max and vrm2 =35c max. I was surprised how hot the memory got on these; the RAM sinks get hot to the touch unless they have a fan on them. Passive cooling is a no go.

Yes, for sure. The memory gets very hot.
Of course without ambient its hard to be certain your temps are normal, but 52c sounds fine.

My memory has already degraded a bit. I used to be able to mine @ 1500 with stock core volts, now it requires +12mV for it to not black screen.

I also have a universal block and passive memory.

How come with GPUz I can only see one ASIC for one 290x? The other only show 0
