They look good but are really expensive! If you want an EK copper block, I got one for sale in the marketplace.

this has been asked a number of times and, iirc, xfx, powercolor and msi do allow it. in case you nee to rma, they just want the orig cooler back of course.

sapphire is under the "don't ask, don't tell" policy.wink.gif

Don't XFX and MSI have the warranty stickers on their screws? So even if you remove the sticker they'll honor the warranty?

My XFX 290 had stickers on the screws. They did not appear to be anti tamper stickers though like the PS3 etc has, just regular small stickers.

My Powercolor did not smile.gif

I have three 290's.. they seem to be the same price as the xspc from where I'm looking. Hmmm I'm sure they're on the same performance level as the others. All the heatkiller blocks for other cards have reviewed very well. I might go for it LOL I'll post up results if I do biggrin.gif

Well the way I see it is they have saved money by not nickel plating the blocks so I am not sure why they are charging over $30 more than the EK blocks. The XSPC version has a pretty complicated design and has their trademark LED design embedded so that I can understand being more expensive.

It's not. Unwinder has already said there is no memory voltage control available, and the Aux voltage on that slider changes the VDDCI (as shown in GPU-Z), which is 1.0V. I doubt the memory runs at 1.0V. Changing core voltage does seem to help memory overclocking though, my guess is because the limiting factor is the new memory controller, not the memory chips themselves.

According to XFX, those stickers don't apply/matter in North America.

Hmmm I didn't realize the EK's were that much cheaper, thanks for the heads up. I honestly haven't given other blocks much look since I was originally waiting to see how the xspc did when they were released, but it's impossible to get any for probably the next 18 - 25 days lol. If you had 3 blocks I'd probably just grab them from you frown.gif

PM sent summarizing current 290x waterblock situation from different manufacturers- hope that helps.

All I know is I ordered an EK Acetal 290x block over two weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped...
