follow valley topic, at first post there are some optimization to do.
I was giving you advice on submitting scores to other threads, particularly 3dmark top 30, ect., ect. Some of them follow hwbot rules and allow tess to be modified. I'm very familiar with valley! biggrin.gif

What sort of rads are you guys using to water cool those 290s? I was thinking about getting into the water cooling "loop" (ba dum chh) I have seen some recommendations for a 120-140mm rad for the single GPU excluding the CPU block (I already have an AIO water loop for that) Or should i go for a 240mm just for the extendibility?

Oh okay, yeah I didn't do all the steps, but I just adjust those few things in CCC and now I'm up to 70 FPS instead of 64. Thanks for the tips! I'll try later with my other monitors unplugged, priority set to real-time, and all the other apps/programs/explorer disabled.

I use a 240mm and a 120mm for my CPU and single 290 loop. Temps are fantastic, never seen it get higher than 45C on the core since.

For just a 290, a 120/140 would probably do it, but if you can fit it in your case, I would go with a 240mm slim rad like the Alphacool ST30.

I have the Phantom 530 so I can probably fit a 240mm on the top. My main concern is not removing any of my drive cages, 5 drives take up some space. The hairs on the back of my neck stand on end when I think about water-cooling that monster. I would just love to have more PCs to build tongue.gif

Anyone know when any more aftermarket 290x's are going to be released and if they are going to be $650+? I've been gpu-less for a couple weeks and I'm seriously thinking about just getting a 780 ti today or tomorrow.

I have EK XTX (64mm thick) 240 and 360 rads here for my 290 and 3770k.... I may have went a bit overkill, hahaha.

Oh well, now I can buy another 290 without needing more rad.

What kinda OC/volts you use for that temp?

I fold 24/7 on it 1125MHz +75mV on the MSI-AB slider. It's usually like 1.25v but kinda fluctuates around a lot.

Which I had a question, I guess its too early to tell for sure because the cards just came out recently. But is it safe to use the card 100% 24/7 with +100mV on the power slider? Temps never go above 50C but I sure would hate to kill my card because extended overvolted use...

I think the consensus is that +100mV is fine for long term use. With the Vdroop you are still around or under 1.3V load, which seems pretty safe. Plus MSI was the one that limited Afterburner to +100mV, which would imply that they think that's a safe amount of over-voltage.
