What a way to end 2013 with a new GPU for those if us who did get one - got to love that. smile.gif

For those of you still thinking about getting a new GPU, couldn't think of a better way to start off 2014. band.gif

Hey everyone. smile.gif

I'll be looking to join this club as soon as I get the money for a R9 290X. The one that I want to get is the Powercolor LCS. I have a question for anyone with experience with liquid cooling as I've never done it before and am interested in doing it for the graphics card, only. What is a good kit to buy and what should I know, if anything in particular, about liquid cooling? My purpose to know is because I want to have the card stay at safe and even preffered temps at all times. Any advice and extra information about it would be greatly appreciated and I'm looking to definitely get one of these cards, so any good tips would be very much appreciated. I'll be reading through this thread for any answers and also because I'm curious to know how the newest Radeons are working for everyone. Thank you in advance, and by the way... Happy New Year!!! smile.gif

Thanks Guys,

The only time I get coil whine is when I OC over +75mv with GPU under load, but not so much that its annoying or anything, from time to time it makes those sounds.

I just got a R9 290 and no mater which position I flip the switch, all my fan settings and everything are the same. Shouldn't CCC show me at a 40% fan limit in one and in a 59% or something in the other? Benchmarks are exactly the same as well.

Maybe someone had this card before, tried flashing it, didn't work, then flashed it back and overwrote the quiet or uber bios? Sapphire R9 290 BF4 edition BTW.

R9 290 dosnt have a Uber or quiet profile to it thats only the R9 290x. Ur card does still have a " dual Bios " just in case an overclock fails and u need to take it back.

On a side note. I managed to overclock my GPU to 1070 core and 1400 ram but that seems to be the limit. I had to adjust my aux voltage another 100mvs in order to get it this high without artifacting.

MSI and XFX, although they have the warranty void stickers have posted themselves that it's okay to change the cooler as long as there's no physical damage and you change it back to stock before sending it back to them. This also depends on country too though.

tests the Tim? lol nah. just nah

does that power color LCS come with a block installed? if sobid say just get an xspc kit with atleast 360mm of rad and it will come with a CPU block too. the kits come with everything you need basically and you would just need 2 fittings to put the gfx card in the loop.

Be aware tho that if u overclock with MSI AB and have the overclocks applied on windows start up, it wont matter if u have a dual bios or not it will still overclock and mess u up. SO if u do overclock have fun and be safe =D

question for everyone! what are all ur Vrm's temps at?

I see people reporting 90+C and everything but mine hardly hit 60 on load for all 3 cards :/

Why are you increasing the aux voltage so much? Most people just use core voltage - I don't think I've ever heard of anyone doing 100mV on the Aux. I doubt most people change Aux at all.
