3 cards on my mobo, is another story. Card 1 will do it, but #2 and 3 are like sammiches and #2 runs hot. That's with a HAF X. Not the best case for airflow. No sense upgrading the case until i go watercooling later this year. Need a case with lots of room for rads, that wont cost me a thousand bucks.

generally card 2 peaks at 78C with 75% fan speed in my case with #1 considerably cooler at 65 % and 70C and #3 at 75C and 70%. Thats after hours of BF4.

Nice that's a great deal compared to the rest.

Yeah, but I've never had a water cooling system, so I was wondering if there was a specific kind that was the best to go with. I'm currently looking at some kits at FrozenCPU.com... I'm totally new to liquid cooling, so I was just wondering if anyone had any recommended parts to use, or brands. smile.gif

I am loving my new water cooling setup I just installed. I got the XSPC EX360 kit with the D5 Vario pump plus and additional EX240 radiator and the EK water block. My 290X never goes above 45c no matter how high i clock it or stress it. My 2600K at 1.45 volts and 4.8Ghz will just touch 80c with LinX and stays on the 60's with prime95. This setup is very quiet even with the pump set at full speed and the fans set at full speed.

I need to do some better tube routing. This is my first try so please everybody excuse the poor tube routing.

I still can not figure out why when I set the voltage on the 290X to anything over +135 it corrupts my QNIX monitor. Doesnt do it with my other monitor hooked up. I am starting to wonder if the cable just cant support the bandwidth.

Maybe spin that top radiator around so the fittings are closer to the front reservoir. That would eliminate one of the long runs.

Also that tube from res to front radiator looks to have a kink in it.

good news is you aren't alone... I have the same issue, but mine seems to be related to core clock + voltage+refresh I can set +100mV/1100/110hz even though I can run 1100 on my stock volts.

But if I set 1200 +100mV/110hz it screws up. I can do 1200/+100mV/60hz though. I ordered a 3 ft cable from mono price which is supposed to be the best qnix overclocking cable so we will see if it helps at all.

your tube routing is fine btw. It looks alot like mine, screw how it looks if it works good that is all that matters. Mine has to be kind of long so I can pull the pump/res unit out to fill it etc.

I was running 4 x 4GB of Corsair Dominator at 1866Mhz for the first test and got my G Skill 2400Mhz kit afterwards.........maybe it's your ram slowing you up?

I also believe my NB Freq was higher for the second run as well (not 100% sure)..........Might be worth checking out maybe?

I am using the same RAM and using the same exact set-up on my OC on those two runs.. that's why I am scratching my head right now coz the only different thing between the two runs is the system monitoring feature of 3Dmark is working now for me, back then it wasn't.

I noticed the kink but I figured i'd keep my mouth shut if his setup was working good.

Yeah, my R2 setup looks nowhere near as good as yours but then again it is fully functional so I don't really care biggrin.gif it's a great case for the $50 I paid for it.

question: do you know what that vertical pci slot looking thing is for ?

probably for a blower type fan that you can install via PCI slot.
