That thing is freaking HUGE!!

It's gonna be a beastly overclocker though, Triple slot cooling plus 12+3+2 power phase? Yup, looking forward to someone picking that up and benching it tongue.gif

The buzzing/whine seems to be directly related to the voltage(power usage?), not sure if the sounds is from the chip itself or the vrms. It is especially obvious when using watercooling as the stock fan noise will generally block out the whine.

for the core i can reach 1240mhz with +200mv and that is ok to me. i was just wondering if all that 1500+ mhz are stable with high vram use of over 3gb...
Good thoughts but Im still stable, no matter how much RAM is used. When I run more apps withs almost 4 GBs of use, still working well.
So how to unlock higher clocks in AB? I try to use Trixx and AB together and be able to put 1700Mhz RAM thru Trixx but it can not handle it and video output shut down...

I think it whine the same regardless of water or air, just that it is much more obvious since there is no more fan sound. Also maybe the fact that we overclock more adding more voltage to it. biggrin.gif

Some people reported that the whine goes away after awhile, mine is still pretty obvious if I open up the case.

I cant hear the one in my HTPC though, probably due to the fact that it is pack in a fractal node with 4hdd and 5 fans.

Well if they al whine, I might have just spent a lot of money on crap and should have gotten 780's which don't tend to whine. Even my new monitor is whining.

Mine whined for about a week when i first got it but never after that.

I also think the power quality being delivered to the cards might play a small part in coil whine as well.
someone else might have more to suggest on that though.

And you didn't spend money on "crap", you spent money on GPU's which have coil whine in some cases and not in others.
