Does anyone have entire system shutdown when overclocking the core sometimes? I'm running +100mV with 75% fan and vrm are below 70c and core is around 80c, no memory oc, just core?

I believe that indicates your cpu/memory may not be stable. Have you seen it shut down at stock gpu clocks too?

I doubt it's cpu/memory. My overclock is pretty solid and this has only happened with core voltage at +100mv. I haven't played much at stock clocks but it didn't happen, only when +100.

Also it doesn't BSOD, and there is not BSOD code when I restart (usually says you got a bsod and the code). very weird!

I also had this problem with my TX850 when OCing my 290 up to 1230/1450 1.35v. I could never figure out what caused it but I think it was OCP

Have you tried flashing the bios and using something other than AB or CCC?

Powertarget +50%
Fan speed 100%, which is only about 21db.

does the asus bios have constant voltage? or how did you find out your voltage before vdroop? I can get the after vdroop voltage range from gpuz readings but I have no idea what the base voltage before vdroop is supposed to be

Possibly the memory is too high.

I really don't know what's going on here. But for now I put everything back to stock except gpu. Maybe my 290x just can't handle +100mv. I was playing for about 15 minutes (far cry 3) no problem no artifacts at 1160mhz and then poof, everything goes down and restarts, no bsod or anything, and I even started windows with "no restart if bsod". Looks like this is some ocp or something, I guess I'll have to figure out. rolleyes.gif
