If anyone has a spare BF4 code I'll trade Arkham Origins and Total War: Rome II codes for it.

Gotta say LOVE the R9 290s...extremely smooth gameplay coming from 590 SLI....the extra VRAM is amazing for 5760 x 1080 and now I can finally turn on AERO for W7...dont have to care about conserving VRAM MUAHAHAHA. To me its about a 75-100% upgrade going from 590 SLI to trifire R9 290 and the smoothness of the crossfire experience is pretty amazing as well...this is coming from a guy who did 5850 crossfire back in 2009....that experience is what actually drove me to Nvidia for the 590s.

Anyways, enough praise for the R9 290s...one question I had was about BF4 for those crossfiring...stutter much? Most all other games are silky smooth but BF4 is a hot load of crap. Turning on/off frame pacing doesnt change anything and I turned scaling down to 100%...was getting 100 FPS + @ 5760 x 1080 but still stutters. Dont think its the CPU since Im running 4770k OC to 4.75 GHZ.

As long as other people here on OCN are having same issue then I'll just sit back and wait for new drivers/patches...otherwise I have some optimizing to do tongue.gif

NOOOP, Have 2 290x @ 1100 - 1400 in crossfire and a 3770K @ 4,5 on a Eyefinity setup of 6000x1200, and it is running like a charm. (appart from the occasional crash because of BF4 being a crappy code)
Maybe its network related?

Man, I've got my i7 4770k rig all up and running... with integrated video. Gah! You guys are making me jealous biggrin.gif I can't even find a Sapphire Tri-x r9 290 OC in stock anywhere! Anyone see one, even for stupidly inflated prices?

Yep, Newegg had them in stock for $579 yesterday, I ordered one.

Should be here Monday, I'm really excited.

Man I am kinda surprised you are ok with paying $130 more than MSRP.

So I've bought a 290 and so far I've gotta say I've had some real issues...

It worked fine to start, no problem. Then I restarted my PC and got a windows logon circle, then a black screen. Weird, I thought!

My adventure so far has included completely flashing my bios and upgrading to the newest version. I've installed my old card then downloaded the drivers again, only to have the same issue again as soon as I plug in my 290.

I've re-installed windows 8.1 and it's still not working at all

I'm using the beta drivers (13.11 I think? Could be wrong)

Does anyone have anything that's worked for them in the short-term? I've been at this for the last 4 hours and it's doing my head in!

I've read on hear that they're releasing updated drivers, are they out yet? Am I in fact using the drivers that should fix this issue?

Thanks for any help on this, I'll include the pic below.

you should be using 13.12 WHQL's they are the most up to date drivers. Also without any info besides you being on win 8.1 and having a 290, your not giving us much to help you with. You should use rig builder to the upper right to put together your system it will help people trouble shoot for ya.
