Thanks. I'll have to run for strike to compare. I got 16,600 on 3d mark 11 for the graphics score in performance.

wouldn't complete at 1175, 1125 went through though. It's a pain if you haven't bough it.

my scores at 1125 vs yours at 1175. you have a lead, by 500 solid graphics score. I wonder how wide that lead would be if you ran at 1125? pretty much trying to validate my choice in going with a 290 instead of 290x. thats all

Got them now on 1166core - 1403 (5609Mhz)Mem.
Vddc offset 112, power limit +50, using Saphire Trixx.
For some odd reason MSI aftherburner did not bring these cards beyond 1125/1400, without throteling @ 45 -55 degrees C. depending the fan speed on the rad.

With Sapphire Trixx i can allso go beyond the +100mV offset, wich is nice.

It worked fine to start, no problem. Then I restarted my PC and got a windows logon circle, then a black screen. Weird, I thought!

My adventure so far has included completely flashing my bios and upgrading to the newest version. I've installed my old card then downloaded the drivers again, only to have the same issue again as soon as I plug in my 290.

I've re-installed windows 8.1 and it's still not working at all

I'm using the beta drivers (13.11 I think? Could be wrong)

Does anyone have anything that's worked for them in the short-term? I've been at this for the last 4 hours and it's doing my head in!

I've read on hear that they're releasing updated drivers, are they out yet? Am I in fact using the drivers that should fix this issue?

Thanks for any help on this, I'll include the pic below.

Here's mine at 1150/1350. 17178 for Graphics. I re-ran it and got 16876 though - not sure what the difference was.

very nice, that's a good comparison. 290 at 1150/1350 = 16,600 and 290x at same clocks = 17,100 or so. Again about 500 points ahead.

Here is me on firestrike at 1339/1390. not a fair compairison since he had slower memory. Got me agian like 400-500 less points. Pretty close.
Core clock and GPU usage on my end didn't stay stable through out that test.

Does XFX 290 Double Dissipation use a references PCB or custom PCB? Most of water blocks only support references 290 PCB
post #13727 of 43911
Howdy you all smile.gif I got 2 x Powercolor R9 290 the OC one with 975mhz core.

Surprised, I did not find the AMD logo above the PCI-E connector, instead the code LF R29F . I checked and it has the exact same layout as the reference design and ofc the same cooler still.

Just thought I'd share my discovery since I got reference blocks and was a little worried driving back from the shop smile.gif

Cheers
