Nothing is wrong. 1.4v is to much for air dude. Did you try 1200/1500 @1.3v? heck even 1.25v? if it stable i would stick to that, 20mhz+ on core for 100mV+ ? no thanks biggrin.gif

What is your ambient temp, and what case you got?

Not sure on ambient, it feels nice in my room so prob like 70-80F, doesn't feel warm.

I have the Thor V2 with plenty of cooling. I'm not too concerned with case temps causing any issues.

I figured I would be at the edge of what's possible with air. I've done some benchmarks with BF4 on small and large maps, about 3-5 minutes per bench performed consecutively to avoid temps lowering.

On 64 player map, Lancang Dam (largest outdoor one I could get on)
Temps: Core 65C, VRM1 63C, VRM2 51C
Avg Fraps: 59.8x
1202/1500 @ 125mv offset

Thanks for the info rep +

That's great temps! you should run heaven 20 mins loop at those exact oc settings and see what will be the max on vrm/core....would be nice to use 75% fan as well if you like tongue.gif

Looks like great settings for high oc thumb.gif

Morning ^^ I've done some testing, brief testing mind you ^^ But didnt notice much of a dip on fps going from 4.5 to 3.4ghz, might have to do more testing as i only did 10 min runs at the different speeds and I maybe should have restarted the pc before doing my 4.5 run as my cpu usage for some reason was higher at that speed. http://piclair.com/rwend (4.5ghz) http://piclair.com/8way5 (3.4ghz)

Did my testing on Rogue Transmission 64 conquest and feels like a 10fps drop average maybe, still keeping fps at 90-120 some time dipped into the high 80s with the clock at 3.4. Another run at 4.5 http://piclair.com/1n0rs gained again around 10 average fps

I've asked this twice, never got an answer..

Anyone that has been using Arctic accelero Xtreme III coolers, what size did you guys use for the VRM and RAM modules???

I need to know ASAP to place an order for them so that I can receive them within this week.

Thanks, I'm fine with that FPS, looks like I'll go with CF 290s before upgrading my CPU.

I just dismantled my rig and I am back on stock cooler.

I replaced the thermal pads on the VRM parts and used PK1 for thermal grease. GPU maxing out at 79C after 1hr of BF4 and VRM1 is at 68C while VRM2 is 65C. I used my leftover Koolance thermal pad (the one with white/pink sides).

And I remember some people using corsair AIO coolers here too on their R9 290/X cards, that have mentioned available brackets specifically for these cards to install those AIO coolers.. where can i find those?
