Doesn't sound too bad for air cooling. You're pumping a bunch of voltage into the card. It's going to get hot at those settings even with a decent air cooler.

arizonian you can update me to having 2, 290's and 2 290x's now.

2 -- 290's on air / 1 290x on air for mining.

1 290x on water for gaming/mining.

104 °C is not a good temperature frown.gif VRM1 is the large row in the back of the card right? +100mV, 1200/1450MHz, CatZilla stable...tMAX for VRM1 is 104°C, tMAX for VRM2 is 49°C, tMAX for GPU is 71°C...

Well before you said +200mV and 85C. 104C on +100mV is not okay. What heatsinks and thermal tape did you use?

what were the vrm temps? your vantage looks low . . .

prolly it's a very old benchmark that does not play well with Hawaii.

yes, those fluctuations are normal. actual games will show the same fluctuation at times. i ran Vantage with my 290 at stock and got about the same score. your vrm temp looks normal as well (there are 2 vrm temps). my Heaven score at stock is 50.
