Some quick runs i wrote down the peak wattage.

3DMark13:

Running at 1100 / 1350 +100mV:

Test #1: 469W (GPU test)
Test #2: 458W (GPU test)
Test #3: 264W (CPU test)
Test #4: 496W (Combined test)

Furmark:

1075 / 1350 + 100mV system turns off / reboot unstable settings, poor clocking card can't handle much.

Yeah, my 8350 is holding my cards back a bit but then again that's what mantle is supposed to change right? tongue.gif

I really need to get another Firestrike submission in as well......3DMark keeps crashing on launch, re-downloaded and all headscratch.gif

Your psu has low efficiency so 496W at wall are 496*0.85= 421.6W for the psu.

So it turns out there was a folder that was messing up my 3DMark key, delete that and i was back in business biggrin.gif

Managed to beat my previous best there even though the physics score is over 1k lower than i've had before.

That's a ton of information, thanks a bunch! It looks pretty good but it's a shame the VRM1 doesn't have great cooling.

Combined with power hungry CPU like FX-8350 & dual 290's, definitely his rig power consumption is going a lot higher than yours.

I found interesting info about my 3820 power draw at stock clock. Over 150W power draw at stock clock.
My 290's Elpida & Hynix cards max voltage are 1.227V & 1.219V before Vdroop respectively. Do you think it's not good idea when overclock to set voltage to +100mV?

Voltages after Vdroop are 1.219V & 1.203V respectively.
If its right then his OCed FX-8150 CPU have almost 300W consumption? Could it be possible?

That's with a single card - I don't understand how Sgt Bilko is using 250W more than that, even with an AMD CPU. I don't know what settings he was using for his benchmark run, but I get 66 FPS on Ultimate so either he was running something lower than that, or it was with Crossfire enabled. Hopefully he'll chime in with his benchmark settings.
I'd check it with the offset under load just to be sure, but as long as the VRM/core temps are okay I don't think it would be a problem - I'm assuming that's going to be around 1.3 or 1.31V load after droop.

340W and 380W are peak values?

Power draw from the wall can exceeds 300W if FX-8350 is overclocked to 4.8GHz. [Source]

Most review use Kill-A-Watt to measure power draw from wall. From there you can guestimate the CPU power consumption. So far the only review I found that measure almost accurate CPU power consumption is Sin0822's OC guides. For example 6-cores SB-E CPUs can consume more than 300W (not power draw from the wall) if overclocked to at least 4.8GHz. For Haswell CPUs, when overclocked to 5GHz, CPU power consumption is only 182W.

How is power consumption with Haswell overclocked on 4.5GHz?
Maximum power consumption of R9 290 is 300W?
You think 700W is enough for my rig?

Power consumption is dependent upon voltage and amperage, not frequency. If you're not overvolting the 290, 700W should be fine.
