TBH, no higher than 100mV for 24/7 use. Benching 200mV is ok, but a bit risky. For water, I'd do 145mV at the most for 24/7.

Thank you! I usually have the sapphire profile running in the background. I always have it set to stock clocks, but when I start to game, I will load one of the profiles I have, finish my gaming and either turn my PC off or reset the clocks/voltage when I need my PC for less demanding work. Right now, at the max clocks that I'm running, I get the same amount of stability at 100mv vs 84mv, so I just keep it at 87. I will push it upto 120mv and see how far I can get.

Has anyone been successful with downsampling on these cards? I read in a thread from a few days ago that the most recent 13.3 beta's work with the downsampling tools. Has anyone tried?

What screws do I need to unscrew to remove the shroud only, not the heatsink.

and hoping i can unlock it to a 290x haha. posting pictures when it arrives.

Definitely strong card I'm sure you'll enjoy it either way. When you get it post proof submission and I'll add you to the roster. smile.gif

Good luck unlocking it.

Thanks Arizonian

And my card has arrive, it here

Some pics

I actually like the look of the cooler and it goes well with my system,

I'm still with the idea of getting a second one but not sure if my AX760i Can handle it, and I don't really want to change it because just arrived one week before my 290 haha.

I still don't check temperatures and noise, not even if it's unlockeable but so far I think a Waterblock will be a good friend to my 290.

This gives me a hint to use TRIXX later today and test it. By the way how many VDDC offset is (.085V of extra voltage)? rolleyes.gif

Follow up question: What is the average OC of R9 290 anyway? CC 1150 or CC 1200? confused.gif

They are the tiny ones on the sides of the plastic. Not the screws on the back of the PCB. Leave the PCB screws there, there might be two small ones on the chrome faceplate too, I can't remember on that one. Either way, you'll see once you start. Be careful when removing the shroud, I think the fan is attached to the plastic and the wires are short. (not entirely sure though, can't remember that either.... lol )

Average would be much closer to 1150 or even 1100 than 1200. Not too many can do 1200. Very few can do 1250 and only a handful reach 1300.

You would probably still be good running 2x290's with the AX760 as long as you're not planning on overvolting. I'm running 2x290's @ 1108mhz right now with an oc'd 3770k @ 1.4v and my system pulls a little less than 650w running BF4 at 5760x1080 mostly maxed out. I have a 12v water pump, 8 fans, 2 ssd's, and a mechanical hard drive running as well. So, your power draw will depend on what else you have in your system.

I've had the card since Nov 2013, just found this thread and would like to join the club.

Just put on water a couple weeks ago and looking forward to pushing the OC a bit higher with some core voltage bumpage.

Looks like  there is some good advice to be had here.

Thanks to the OP and contributors.

Sweet. That means I lucked out with this card, as it can do 1200mhz. Ambient is pretty low now, so I might have to crank the Tri-x to 100% later in the year. Meanwhile my 3570k is mediocre frown.gif
