Congrats - added thumb.gif

Post back with your TRI-X results over clocking. I'm interested in it's results.

I'm looking to go 2x 290's - I'm working out trying to decide which card to get! Options include:

Saph Tri X
Gigabyte Windforce
Powercolour PCS+

Question:
Will my 1000w PSU handle my OC'd CPU which is a 4670k @ 4.4ghz 1.27v AND 2x 290's OC?

Which card would be the best to Xfire / heat dissipation / OC ability? Don't care about noise or price to much just dont want the things to throttle under head etc with a nice healthy OC?

Cheers,
Your 1000W PSU definitely can support 2 x 290's OC. I have 1050W PSU can handle 3820 @4.75GHz & 2 x 290's @1150 (core)/1600 (memory) MHz just fine.

48C is a good temp man.

Try 880/1250, -25mV gives my XFX 290x 845Kh/s @ 65C each @ 63% fan. -I 20 --thread-concurrency 32765

If you are solo mining I suggest you find a pool to mine with because 645Kh/s is not enough hashrate for a coin that has been out for a bit of time.

Powercolour PCS+ isn't out yet so no comment other than it may be 3 slot card so harder to xfire?
But I would go Sapphire Tri-X most definitely.

So I finally got around to putting in the new thermal pads on my 290s and what a difference!
VRM temps right down to less than 50 degrees, much improved from the 100 degrees I was hitting before lol.

Overclocked to 1200/1600 with +200mv and it's 100% stable in Heaven benchmark 4.0 but for some reason when I play hitman absolution with crossfire I get system freeze occasionally. Not sure if this is the game itself, driver problems or just slightly unstable overclock. I've not had much chance to try any other games gonna have to investigate this later.

Also my XFX r9 290 is being really weird with GPU usage going all over the place, whereas the Sapphire card stays relatively level. I don't know if this has anything to do with running on PCI-e 2.0 8x/8x but it only happens to the XFX card no matter what slot it's in. I might try flashing the XFX with the sapphire's bios when I get in to see if that changes anything.

I have one R9 290 running, OCed to 1150/1450 and +87mv. I was playing BF4 and I usually get frames of 90-120 normally. However, today I connected a 1440x900 monitor and without even using the monitor (its just connected via DVI and powered on), my frames drop to 40-60 in game. Is this normal? Any way I can improve this?
