Just got my 290 running at 1075/1250MHz, i can't seem to get the vRAM to run at the rated 1500 it's set for.. Maybe I need some auxiliary voltage?

Anyway, did a fan curve and max i get about after 2 hours of mining is 87c and that's stable with a voltage offset of +13.

What am i doing wrong with the memory? I never seem to get cards that clock well for the memory :/

Just sharing my final daily OC I got dialled in now.

1100MHz on the core with +50mV core voltage
1400MHz on the vram (5600MHz effective) with +25mV Aux voltage.

Settings syncronized for both cards in AB (They're very well matched for oc'ability).

Guys get your OC's tested on Sleeping dogs and see if they hold up ok especially vram oc's. I managed to get my first and only black screen using this game and a freeze aswell when everything else was spot on (BF4, Bioshock, TR, 3dmark etc). This game seems to hammer the 290 series (highest I've seen my VRM1 temps too @ 55c - usually around 45-50c).

Done a quick bench too - tested against TTL's 780Ti Phantoms SLI from OC3D.

Sleeping dogs (1440p) TTL's 780Ti SLI (2 card) Gainward Phantoms (I think they were boosting higher that my 290's clocks aswell iirc)

My Radeon R9 290 non-Xs XFire (2 card) EK Waterblocks. (1100MHz core, 1400MHz vram).

780Ti's managed couple of frames higher on the avg and max but my min was 4fps higher.

So nice to see them keeping up with these cards considering they're £600 each.

Also can't wait to see mantle performance on my hexa with Xfire.

Honestly I wouldn't mind going with ATI with my next computer build beginning next year. which is where I go full blown mental on it again.

Shame that ATI doesn't have a company like EVGA that is totally okay with putting watercooling on their cards since I am planning to go dual(maybe triple) SLI/crossfire so air cooling is way out of the possible options.

But as far as I know there isn't any company that deals in ATI cards that has nothing against watercooling as far as I know. Okay you got some companies selling reference 290s with watercooling slammed on it but who cares about reference. I am looking for a good overclocker.

the 290X lightning(whenever it comes out) will be an amazing card too bad MSI is kinda iffy about watercooling it and it apparently depending on who is handling your RMA.

Hey all!

Legit reviews has mantle benchmarks...but its only for i5 3570 + R7 260X

http://www.legitreviews.com/amd-mantle-api-real-world-bf4-benchmark-performance-catalyst-141_134959

They still see a 15% improvement biggrin.gif More reviews will stream in today....I think most review sites are getting the drivers now so Sunday/Monday latest for us (fingers crossed)

Edit:

Some polish source...not sure what to make of it yet smile.gif Just trying to stir up interest

I'm assuming you've either: changed thermal past, added Vram thermal pads, have an epic case as far as cooling goes, run the fan at 70%+, or have put a waterblock on it. I've heard over and over from reference cards that if they reach a certain temperature they can't maintain consistent FPS/core clock. I guess with a bite of tweaking with the fan profile you'd be able to get better results too, so I guess there's ways around the temperature problem, I still would imagine your rig is pretty loud though (assuming it isn't water cooled). I personally wouldn't ever want my card to run that hot or loud, which is why I like the Tri-X. It's like what, a 40$ difference where I'm buying between the reference and the non reference cards? That isn't a huge deal for me for the advantages it provides.
