I have just discovered that I can not play BF4 with AfterBurner. I have to close AB now. I think I read Unwinder say something about a new beta or a update to beta 18 on it's way any day now. Any one else having trouble with BF4/AB/Mantle?

this doesnt have to do with mantle or drivers, im getting the same with my GTX460 with AB open the game just freeze ifyou alt tab... and have to force close on taks manager.

Appears I am getting some sort of random video lag in BF4 with Mantle. Not sure the cause yet... I would say stuttering but that term is used loosely. Seems like about 1 sec or so, ill get a random pile of video lag. This is with a 290x.

This what happen when playing BF4 with Mantle & Crossfire enabled. Intermittent stuttering (known issues). As shown in second pic, GPU2 core clock is fluctuating.

This is recorded data from one BF4 session. 2 x 290's Crossfire @1150/1400, 1080p, Ultra settings, 100% resolution scale, Mantle.

EliteReplay is saying that it is happening on his Nvidia card too. So there could be big problems with the battlefield update not Mantle.

Is it safe to flash a 015.041.000.002.000000 bios from a ASUS DCII OC 290X onto a ASUS Stock (now watercooled) 290X? Or will this kill my card?

Does anyone know a program to record the frame rate FPS, with Mantle ??? Fraps and Afterburner are not working frown.gif because i want to perform some benchs on BF4 with my r9 290x between dx11 and mantle...

any ideaS? Thanks.

Max:237.53(7.72ms)
Avg:146.82(6.811ms)

Here is how to generate the benchmark and analyze it so far from what I think I figured out.

guide: ignore quotes do not type them
In game

1) press "`"

2.) type "perfoverlay.framefilelogenable 1"
do not add this to your user cfg as the data it generates while it loads is useless, wait til your in game and spawned.

3.) prior to exiting the game type ""perfoverlay.framefilelogenable 0"
if you don't do this the data at the end of your file will have huge numbers that are useless.

4.) once out of game navigate to the documents/Battlefield 4 folder and you should see a FrameTimeLog.csv file

5.) open this up with excel or libre office calc (it's free)

you should have a file that looks like this:

jh60.jpg

that first column A is all you really care about (I think for fps):

so just go use the following calcs to get min max and avg
where XX is the number of your last row in A
find an empty cell and type

"MIN(A1:AXX)"

in another empty cell type
"MAX(A1:AXX)"

in another empty cell type
"AVERAGE(A1:AXX)"

in the above pic it would look like
MIN(A1:A14)

oh and just divide 1000/min max etc to get fps.

Hope that helps. feel free to correct and/or add info and yes you could graph it as well if you want. someone more knowledgable I am sure will clarify what all 3 variables really are and how to make use of em

I have just figured out how to calc average fps, lest say column A is from 1 - 7000

In any cell (lets use G5) type the following =SUM(A2:A7000)

then in a new cell type:

=7000/G5*1000

where 7000 is the amount of frames, G5 is the total rendering time in milliseconds, then multiplied by 1000 to give average FPS.

Tested this method against some older FRAPS minmaxavg.csv benchmarks and its correct, although don't know how to get min and max FPS yet.

edit: check following post for a much easier way to get the min, max, avg. doh.gif
