just flashed my 290X to the Tri-X BIOS, currently testing memory clocks to see if I don't get black screen above 1350 on reference cooler. I know for a fact under full waterblock my card can run 1450 but under reference so far my best clock would be 1350 on memory.
using Tri-X BIOS I went thru 1 BF4 session w/o black screen under stock cooling at 1450mhz on memory.. gonna try few more games and then move up the clocks.
Just got done w/ 2 BF4 matches and 2 star swarm run w/ memory clock at 1500Mhz on Tri-X BIOS and so far no black screen. I did try 1550Mhz on memory and I got black screen w/ in 2minutes. Looks like Tri-X BIOS have something different, I was using BF4 edition BIOS prior to flashing my card to Tri-X BIOS. Somebody else should test it out, the more the better so that we can confirm if using Tri-X BIOS really make memory clock more stable.
I will further test it later today (I needa go to sleep it's almost 4AM LOL), I will not jump to conclusion just yet maybe it just happens to not get black screen so quick at these clocks. But then again prior to flashing I usually get black screen at 1400Mhz on stock cooler. (when I had waterblock on I can go 1450Mhz stable, 1500 instant black screen/or screen black lines appears).Edited by Sazz - 2/3/14 at 3:57am
