Tried BF4, BF3 and Alan Wake...OK

make sure to Disable CCC Overdrive. use only one app to oc.

Hard lock soon as I backed down the power. At +100mv i can run 1150/1550 all day in Crysis 3 so I guess Ill be happy with that.

Now if I could get this coil whine to go away. Man I had bad luck with coil whine on my past 3 card. 570, 7950 and my 290x all have horrible whine. Now with the water block its all I hear. Welp better luck next go around

Well my asus r9-290x dcII has started to do black screens randomly.
Had to return it.
It stayed about 5 hours in my Pc...

I asked the vendor if he can give me the Trixx version instead.

Just need to wait.

Also: what is the max voltage for these cards ( 1.4v)?

The "only" way we can break the card is if we put too much voltage for long period of time right?

MSI AB Beta 18 lets me adjust voltage but I can't use the voltage hack...

I want +200mV, I feel that I can break 1250MHz no problem.

i had a 7950 that had coil whine. i joined the Valley bench and after running that it about 20 times the coil whine died down. at stock you can run Valley continously for a few hours if you like and see if it helps.

It is the combination of temps and voltage that kill the card. I would do 1.4V only with water cooling or better and purely for benching. Around 1.3V should be safe for 24/7.

RMA the card if it annoys you. My current 290x has no coil whine at all but my 1st was louder than my ap-15s.

I would like to if i'm honest but I have no card to replace it with. I guess I could run integrated graphics for a while but I don't feel like pulling down the loop. It is what it is.
